Pretty much this for me too. I didn't realize the Jew Bear directed movies either.

I've only seen a few of his movies, and those have mostly been 'eh.' I feel no particular urge to watch anything new he's done, or rewatch anything, but I don't think he's terrible.

Voted on the poll 'Why?' After finding out who... well...

I've only seen Hostel, which I thought was total crap, and virtually all his other work appeared to be in the same genre, so I cannot honestly say if he's a good director or a crappy one, but I'm not at all impressed by what I've seen or read about his movies.

I know of Eli Roth and what he does but I was never interested in torture porn as a genre since the act of torture sickens me and the fact that it was being practiced by us while those movies were being made which adds another fucked up dimension to it

He wasn't horrible in Inglourious Basterds but he didn't do a whole lot in that movie

Well, he's the one director that I know by name, but I can never remember what he actually directed... and since I just like Cabin Fever from his overall directing credentials[footnote]I don't count the two Hostel movies because I still don't care about them after finally watching them on IFC...[/footnote], I guess, to me, he's a "one-hit wonder"...

Other than that, I guess I mostly recognize him as an actor than a director, anyway, so I guess I like his acting more than his overall directing? I don't know how this kind of comparison works...

I never liked shock horror/gore porn. If I want to be shocked I'll just read the news, and as I do that enough as is I feel little need to watch his movies. I mean, female genital mutilation and whatnot? Man, I don't want to see vaginas being treated that way, I love 'em too much for that.

That one funniest bit of Cabin Fever was hilariously dumb-funny though.
