One of my main paraphilias is vore, and the vast majority of that is partially or entirely furry, so while I didn't start out too much one way or the other, I have a distinct respect for, and even somewhat a preference for, them now.

I don't really care. They are whatever. If they are furries let them be who they are. I would treat someone the same if they were a furry as they were a normal person as long as they arent in a full suit then i treat them as a person in a creepy suit.

This sums up my opinion to those 'Extremes' of furry-isms however for the less extremes and are just people who don't shout it out or just appreciate the art or something, I don't mind, the art does creep me out if its like the ecchi-anthro-thing or anything similar

And sometimes I get the feeling people who wear cat ears and fox tails in day to day life are doing it because they want to attention and "persecution" that comes with it. Just like those dudes that wear kilts to the mall in middle America.
Or they probably just like them. I mean, hell, if I had a pair of those cat ears that popped up in the News Room yesterday, I'd buy two. One for me and one for my non-existant girlfriend who would have dumped me after I gave them to her anyawy.

Also...I wear a kilt sometimes. But I'm Scottish. WHY DON'T YOU RESPECT MY HERITAGE?! (Well, okay, I'm more Spaniard than Scottish, but STILL.)
I respect your heritage, but don't be surprised if you get lots of dirty looks and finger pointing and whispering when you were your kilt and you aren't at a ren fest, highland days, or some sort of parade.

I can REALLY see why people like the whole furry fetish, but I can hardly say that I am one, more that my fetish is people with furry fetishes, if that makes any sense...

I let XKCD do my talking:

Basic idea: it's sad that their fetish is the one that always talked of and put down when every has fetishes just as or stranger than there's.

I'm indifferent, but I try to defend them with above argument.

Cool, The escapist crowd is surprisingly tolerant... or is that apathetic? XD
Tolerant, in my experience. The Escapist crowd is one of the better ones I know~

On topic: I guess Furries can be okay. Maybe. *Shrugs* I'm tolerant, I guess. If someone's into it, I won't be hating. To each their own. Everyone's entitled to their own fetishes and opinions, and I don't talk bad about them cause of that.

And (half-jokingly, half-seriously) I wouldn't mind if my girlfriend got out the cat ears once.

This thread is bound to get real hairy, real fast.

OT: I've actually got a morbid curiosity about them, but it's next to impossible to get any kind of information out of them for me to understand how this whole thing "works". Every time I've come in contact with one and tried to ask them simple questions I'm either met with "OMG TROLL" comments or just plain stupidity.

Personally, it doesn't bother me, but it is something I'd like to at least try to understand at some level because that's really the only thing that bugs me about them; that I just don't have enough information about it to form a fundamental understanding of it.

PS: If there are any furries here who want to answer my questions please don't reply to this comment on this thread, I do not want to derail the topic for the sake of my own curiosity as I feel it would be selfish to do so.

Thanks.

What do I think about them? Bit creepy but I can deal with it.

RANT MODE ACTIVATED (Please don't report me):

What do I want to say to them? Stop being attention whores, most people don't really give a shit about what you're into.

I really hate when someone talks to me and right away states they're a furry, why not just 'Hi, im Bob, nice weather we're having today' I honestly don't need to know about your fetishes so why mention it, it's not a defining factor of who you are so STOP BRINGING IT UP.

There are plenty of people in the world who WILL find it disturbing[footnote]And I see no issue with them for feeling that way, not everyone is going to be tolerant of things they don't like.[/footnote] so stop being so surprised that when you mention it by way of introduction that someone somewhere is going to say nasty shit to you.

It's your own damned faults when people call you names, stop bringing your fetish up in unrelated conversation, keep it to the furry message boards.

DISCLAIMER:

If you are one of the good people who doesn't try to force their ideals on me then I have absolutely no problem with you and I indeed wish you happiness in your future endeavours.

Also when I mention fetish I do not mean to offend, apparently there was a distinction I was not aware of.

Not got a problem with sexual fetishes as a rule, but I have to admit furries piss me off.

I've posted about it before so this may be a little copy-asta if I get quoted but the fact is that a majority of furries view it as a sexual thing, surveys prove it and all. That under consideration do I really need to read about someone's sexual fetishes online? Like, right in the middle of my Escapist?

Oh, also they're fun to troll for drama, their community has a load of defectives in it.
Incorrect, sir. I know a furry, and he has let know that it definitely isn't a sexual thing. In fact, he also said that you don't need an animal costume to be a furry.

To answer your question, I'm OK with furries (clearly, I've gotten to know one). If you want to go full-blown furry, that's fine. If you just want to say that you're a furry and that's it (like my friend), that's fine too.

Puntacular.

As for me, eh, whatever floats your boat. I'll bet everyone has some kind of strange fetish, though most might not be so public about it. I respect that level of courage, though.

I am not one, but I'm not even against the concept enough to refuse to date a furry.
Infact I think anthropomorphic animals look cool and cute in games.
I'm getting Solatorobo on the DS once it comes out, and here's a picture:

I can even understand it as a fetish.
