humans suck... i know that this is probably the depression talking, but im so tired of our race. all we do is cause problems and make everything worse... and whenever we have something great, we always end up messing it up. you can say im being egotistical, but im talking about myself as well. im tired of being disappointed and im tired of living in a world that we have ruined. sorry for the negativity.

I think that we are very self destructive and eventually we'll tear ourselves into the ground. We don't need aliens' help.
Can't really comment on this until we find other intelligent speaking species (don't believe in aliens btw) but based on interaction with others it varies, some are useless, some are worth their space and some deserve more than they have
well considering i don't see any little green men running around i'm going to go with us as the only life in the universe.(which would go with what i think about how we came into existance)

We're monkeys with the capacity to recognize our questionable intelligence and revel in it whilst destroying ourselves, one another and our environs.
I think that we are relatively intelligent compared to other species on the planet Earth. But no way to tell how we are compared to other universe species, which is impossible to even hypothesize on.
As Michael Crichton pointed out, human beings are incapable of imagining past what we have seen and felt. We imagine aliens as humanoid and communicable with. For all we know, they inhale nitrogen and exhale carbon monoxide. And fire lasers out of their genitalia. If the latter was true, we would be screwed in the case of an invasion.

While we humans have done some terrible things, we have also created much beauty and wonder, and every now and then you'll come across a person so magnificent they restore your faith in the species as a whole.
Edit: The title is misleading. I have no idea how we'd fare in an inter-planetery war, maybe any aliens out there are actually all just cave men, or semi-sentient mushrooms, who knows?
