Ive always beleived in a higher power, but religion as a whole is nothing but crowd control, and I do not follow any of them, I mean, I can't get over the fact that the guy telling me what I should or shouldnt do is human and as imperfect as me, so what does he know what's right and what's wrong, the bible? The bible is not real folks, its a book full of morality stories and symbolizm, don't believe me, look at the koran, and many hindu books that were written many centuries before the bible, they all have the same stories. Not to mention that its meant to be interpreted individualy, so what you percieve as right, someone else will see as a sin.

The 2% is the worldwide average so I don't see how Africa could possibly have a 40% defective rate.

Even if it did, that's better than no protection and I believe that would be a better (and more realistic) cause to fight for; (more effectiveness) than abstinence. Every pope (in my lifetime) has made it sound like condoms make people want to have sex, they're going to have sex anyway, let them have as much protection as possible.
