I think Twitter is Facebook/Myspace for idiots.

If you knew of even a single iota of my loathing of the latter 2 websites, you know that my hatred of Twitter is seriously bad.

Can't say I've used it, but it is a good way for webcomickers, actors, authors, and politicians to use for personal thoughts to be made public. May not work out so well for politicians if they decide to Pull a Reagan/Biden. Businesses have already been mentioned.

Anyone else using it is... well, if they use it for honest fun then good for them. However, most of them are pretty much in it for the attention and the "Next big thing on TV!" shtick. I can't say I approve of Twitter, but it does a fine job of filtering out most of the brainfarts from the rest of the internet and I can't fault it for that.

Now, will I ever use it? No, no... no... no. No... no. No. Nope. Why? I use too many words to say something very simple. Twitter is not made for me.

EDIT: My 666th post... figures that it would be about Twitter.

I have a Twitter and I'm beginning to like it more than FaceBook... I used to really like FaceBook but then it was taken over by people making really stupid groups and dumb flash games. Now it's like advertisement land. Twitter is very simple and very dumb, but that's what makes me love it. I get hundreds of messages from Twitter every week and it's a good source of information and telling people what movie I just saw or the status of my stool.

I have a Twitter account, but I can't remember why I made one. I'm not following anyone on it and as far as I know no-one is following me. *looks behind the chair*

I don't hate it by any means, but I simply fail to see the point.

I don't use twitter, occasionally buzz when I run out of credit on my phone but that is because it's built into gmail, wouldn't bother otherwise.

It's popular because celebrities use it.
I'm not on it a hell of a lot, but it's okay to talk to you guys.

I don't use or follow Twitter and regard it pretty much as ego masturbation and beyond tedious.

I singed up to it to try and give Valve a second vote against Zynga (which I apparently did wrong), so I had a total of two tweets, both failed attempts to get Valve a MM vote.

And now I have something like 3 or 4 followers. Wut?

I have a Twitter, I quite enjoy it as, despite what you're all saying, it's not as spammy as frggin' Facebook. Though sometimes it's a bit like having a blog; no one really pays any attention to you.
And as for spambots ("come see my sexy profile at blahblah") you just block them from following you and report them. I get barely any spam followers any more :)

Well, there is me. Wait, does that make me a spambot?

But really, a bunch of Escapists are there that I regularly chat too. Like sky14kemea, Mookie_Magnus, Insanum, Sharphoe, (former) MaxTheReaper, Neonbob, and many more.

Don't know. Don't care. Twitter is by far the dumbest piece of technology ever devise. It's worse than something designed specificaly to shock it's user in the groin.
..or this lol...

Okay, you rocked my world with that:p

OT: There are people on twitter that are allowed to. People who actually have something to say.

For instance: The development of a game/album. when you show some stuff along the way, you'll keep people interested. Show some pieces, tell people how your day's been going. It creates sympathy. (Valve: maybe an idea for the new Half-Life episode?)

@People who use Twitter to tell me they're sitting next to a fat man on the bus, or just ate a cow, or flushed said cow down the toilet: Get a real life. Noone cares.

Don't have an account, but I find it mildly interesting because there are some interesting people on it. It's a medium like any other, except shorter. I'm slightly more open-minded about it after hearing Stephen Fry and Craig Ferguson talk about it at length. I found the Mythbusters' twitter feeds somewhat interesting as well. I enjoyed being kept updated on the Robot Skeleton Grant was making for Craig, and seeing the robot-related banter about it.

While I don't like the medium much, there is some amusing content there if you know what you like.

I'm with Furburt on this one. If people need to know when I wipe my ass, the fact that I dont have a twitter account is not their biggest problem.
