So, this has been around for a while, as skyrim is going to use the new creation engine, so i figured, that the next Fallout game is going the same direction, BUT, i wanted to know your take on the situation, like, what should be improved, included and brought back in the new installment, or the franchise should even change it's locale, or take on a completely different twist?

I'm still waiting for that damned DLC to know where my Courier's from.

I want it less glitchy. Better story. More cool weapons.
I think I may want the one in Europe or Canada seeing as we have no idea how they survived. Hardcore should definitely be more hardcore. So I guess all of the above in the poll. And make it more like the first two.

Oh and if you want more perks and traits there are so many mods I could direct you to. I am currently nursing a Deathclaw. So cute. Named him Fuzzles.

Most of those I agree with so I haven't voted for a single one.

One thing I would add is the removal of the fast travel system. I am using a mod that removes it and am enjoying the experience much more than I did previously.

I'm pretty happy with the game overall, so I guess the only cool thing to change is the location.

New York City?
Carribean?
Northern USA (Snow)?

EDIT: I didn't realize the poll option was "set somewhere outside the US." I think Fallout should always be in the US because if it wasn't then there would be no more of that classic red-bloodded american 1950s charm. And then it wouldn't be fallout.

Well, i can only say, that the fast travel should remai, but it must be like in the first fallouts, with the random encounters and whatnot :D also, i had enough mods on FO3, with all the custom weapons and stuff, I'd rather wait for a new game.

Does anything really need to be changed? the series is acclaimed and well selling, not exactly the type of situation that demands a great deal of change.

Personally, i like the story of the Fallouts and the scenery is amazing, combat is cool from the get go and it never gets old watching a super mutants head explode in slow motion. Perks are pretty widespread and give unique advantages for picking them, making players repeat the game to get different outcomes from the same quests. I didnt really find locales to be "copy/pasta"'d either, it was pretty enjoyable to spend lengthy periods of time just strolling through the post-apocalyptic wasteland, occasionally pausing to deal with some bandits or a deathclaw.

Less empty would be nice, the F:NV map might be large, but it feels empty because there's very little to it. They don't have to rework the combat system, mods work that aspect just fine. I'd hope the next one will be far less linear, in New Vegas I had a constant feeling that they had worked a timeline out which I was going to have to follow (blocking of area's with creatures). Another importent thing for me are more is more random stuff, random encounters, ambushes, random creature spawns and many more. The factions could be less one sided too, (FNV, the NCR had literally over 70 quests and the other major faction, the legion, only had 7. Post-completion freeplay is also a must. It should stay in California because that's were Fallout's roots lie and should stay. I would also like it to be in another country, but I'd would not be good for the franchise, unfortunately. I just want them too improve what it is and not change a winning team.

How about a game that doesn't crash every 30 minutes?
Or some decent character story arcs? Or maybe a main quest that isn't vying for "Most retarded rush job in a AAA title, ever".

EDIT:

More different mobs. I'm thinking in the terms of big boss fights (kinda like the behemoth mutant).

I want a different engine (that's probably going to happen anyway), hardcore mode should be harder, yes, and... well just keep the quality and get me a car like in the good-ol' 2D days! I really missed a car for F3 and NV.

LOL? why?
1. They screwed up the lore once, I don't want that again.
2. They can't make a solid game, ever.
3. The main quests in their games are almost always bad.
4. They seem to have hired new, bad writers.
5. They don't know how to use celebrity voice actors.
6. Pete Hines.
7. Their game salways have really bad moral choice, or even choice at all. You're always the good guy fighting evil baby eaters.
8. Mothership Zeta.

Absolutely, we should definitely have more of those. Was there even one of these in NV?

I wanna see one set in Canada. The whole annexation thing is very interesting. Plus I'd like to find out what happend to all the Chinese soldiers fighting in Alaska; maybe went south and went into hiding.

*More FEV experiments
*More aliens (Space Missions? The Enclave lost their ship but maybe the Chinese had something up their sleeve?)
*Should totally be (partially) set in China. Extra points for Chinese with subtitles.
*Able to play as a Ghoul
*Revisit the Institute in the Commonwealth
*Larger spots like the "Oasis". The gray desert wasteland gets kind of monotonous after a while.
*More intelligent entities, or more insight into the (relatively) unexplored ones (Death Claws, ZAX-puters, Super Muties etc.)

THe thing I missed the most in New Vegas was the custom weapons you could build at workbenches in Fallout 3. It made carrying all that crap around completely pointless. So more Railway Rifles and Dart Guns. :D Other than that I think New Vegas only brought good stuff.

EDIT: OK so maybe more of a back story. I Really liked the one in fallout 3. The one in New Vegas just seemed a little rushed. So, deeper backstory and more schematic weapons and you're golden. :)

Dear god, no!

Aliens were never surpossed to be part of the Fallout lore, they were just a joke. Then Bethesda had to go and make an entire DLC based around them.

I always thought it was supposed to be considered a joke...like the armour for mounts in Oblivion. I ...didn't think anyone even liked that one.

The very objective of the Vaults was to study the effects of long term isolation on small human communities. Often times something was sabotaged to see what the effects were. All this was done IN ORDER to know how to launch a viable "Space Ark" for "pure humans" if Earth proved uninhabitable after a total annihilation scenario. The Enclave even had a ship built.
