Just for the mention of Zombie Jesus, and because it was cut from TV by a spineless idiot, I'm linking what I think is one of the more respectful comedy Jesus songs.

Bonus points for slipping 'parthenogenesis' into a song.

But yeah , Easter is a time to pass, so you can head into the stores after and snaffle a big pile of cheap chocolate.

( I do think it's mad to get offended however, he's essentially saying that Jesus was as good as a dozen great things put together. )

Extra long weekend, and an unhealthy amount of Påskmust! [http://www.idaolsson.se/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/Apotekarnes-P%C3%A5skmust.jpg]
Beverage of the Gods!
Damn you, you know I can't drink carbonated beverages! *sob sob*

You're putting me in quite a quandary here. Part of me feels a large amount of pity (in a non offensive way, of course) for you, seeing as you're missing out on THE BEST BEVERAGE EVER.
And a very small part of me feels a smug sense of superiority. =D
But then again, is there any non-smug sense of superiority? I must ponder this further. I'll get back to you on that.
D,= Maybe I could just have a LITTLE bit of påskmust...? Damn it, the shops are closed! Sigh...

You know, I don't know if one can feel non-smug about one's superiority either. Huh. I will join you in pondering. *strokes chin in thought*

For me? Chocolate, Family, Holiday (but not Holy Day).

The family bit is a bit odd - my entire extended family this side of the Atlantic is Catholic - except my immediate family. My brother and I were raised entirely secularly - religion was just never a factor growing up. So while the extended family gets together around the holidays because we all have time off, a religious dimension will ever so occassionally pop up (like my little cousin saying the Lord's prayer at lightning speed - that was creepy the first time I saw it), and we'll just shuffle our feet awkwardly. That said, it doesn't happen often, partly because they're not super-religious, but mostly because it's about spending time with family.

Well Easter falls on my birthday this year... so that I guess. Otherwise it's just another day to me.

Zombie Jesus, proverbially flipping the bird to Death for all our sakes, and riding off to heaven after chilling with his hombres one last time. Bonus points for getting all the major religious leaders mad at him during his days of walking the earth.

I usually get a chocolate cross in remembrance of His death and what it means. Stores have their clearance sale the day after, so the option is open to take advantage of that as well.

Ugh. Easter means inconvenient opening hours in stores (including none at all!) and more religious blather on the radio.

The time where Christians go out to praise their "Lord" for saving them, then ignore those around them, including possibly their own fellowship that has serious issues, serious stresses, depression, or just feel lost entirely, as well as those with no friends of their own. All while constantly preaching about helping others and sharing in brotherhood.

Oh right, sometimes they'll give food to the homeless for some easy brownie points, because handing out cheap burger king burgers really takes a lot of time and money...

---

Wait... isn't this what they ALWAYS do?

Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter were holidays i used to look forward to when my grandma was still alive. she went all out on the feast (she would actually drive 200 miles round trip to a butcher shop that had the "best ham".)

but since her passing 6 years ago none of my family gets together anymore.

so i guess i would say Easter for me is bittersweet. I have fond memories of my grandma, But it reminds me of how much i miss her too.

It occurs to me that non-religious types may frequent these forums more than others.

(what I normally do but without the hassle of school)

Oh and chocolate. Mmm.

When you do vote, please vote on the #1 thing since you might get chocolate as well as zombie jesus blessing you on a holiday.
Religious Significance: Ostara, the Pagan holiday.

Chocolate is nice too.

Also, for the record, I love how the Christians didn't even try with this one. They changed the pronunciation just slightly (Ostara --> Easter) and left in the chickens and rabbits from the pagan holiday. I mean, at least "Christmas" sounds different than Solstice or Saturnalia, even if it has all of the same symbols (there are no pine trees in Jerusalem) and the fact that Jesus was born in the early-middle part of summer.

Candy, påskmust and eggs. That's about it.
I can't believe Sweden is the only country with påsk/julmust.

It doesn't mean anything to me. I'm not religious, I don't work on Sunday, and I don't receive baskets full of chocolate candy. Though I love Cadbury mini eggs. I used to have a nice dinner with my family when I still lived in Pennsylvania, but now I'm alone in Texas v:
