I choose not to smoke. Not because it's gross or because I don't want to post, but because I don't want to....plus I made a wish to my dying grandmother not to and no I'm not lying or being funny. Otherwise I'd probably be lighting up right now.

However, when I go to Cuba in a year, I want to try a cigar. I doubt I'll be able to smoke the whole thing, though.
You dont inhale a cigar. You absorb the nicotine in your mouth, but you aren't supposed to *inhale* like you would cannabis or shisha, or a cigarette

Thanks. So in a crude way of saying it, you just draw it in, hold it in your mouth, then blow it out again and try not to get it in your lungs..? I'll have to do some research before I go, especially what to try =)

the occasional cigar... occasional as in once every 6 months

not even for the taste, either... more just to have fun with the smoke/feel fancy

I smoke damiana. Preferably hand-rolled, but a brand called Ecstasy uses damiana as the main ingredient in their herbals, so if I can't get the loose-leaf, I get that.

Seconded, I'd always like to have a big fat cigar in my hand to look important.

I don't smoke, but I intend to smoke a pipe when I'm old, to fit the stereotypical image.

Other: I don't smoke and I am choosing this so I can post (The EW SMOKING IS BAD option was... meh)

I have always stayed away from smoking, not as a "High moral choice that makes me better" but just as a personal choice.

I would like to think that perhaps smoking will die at some point, the dangers and such making it seem a bit silly to do... however personal choice and all, if someone wants to smoke then I have no ill thoughts towards the person.

I went with 'other' since I don't smoke anything, but I won't go as 'childish' the I don't smoke option sounds. Smoking never really appealed to me, in any 'substance'.

I smoke since two years. On average about once a week. In summer I smoke pipe outside. I always have a pack of Al Capones cigarillos. Cigars i smoke when i can get my hands on them and i occasionally smoke cigarettes. Especially when they are free. My current pack has lasted for 4 months. I mostly buy non-mainstream brands. Don't know why.
Weed is nice. But kind of hard to get around here.
My grand uncle died an unpleasant death by lung cancer. I like snuff, especially the bavarian schmalzler variety and I am still looking for a shop selling chewing tobacco in my area. Also I can not yet understand how you can get really addicted to that stuff, nor why most people solely prefer cigarettes.
That's my attitude and habits regarding smoking.

I do not smoke. Though I have smoked some Swishers before. They were alright but I really don't care to smoke at all.

And my years in retail have given my an uncanny knowledge of just about every type of cigarette/cigar out there.

Anyone here not smoked Marlboro Reds before? Seems to be the one everyone goes to first. Or am I making a gross over-generalization? :p

(no offense intended, but it is just a demographic I have noticed here)

More or less, you may get a waft or two in your lungs, but you aren't ATTEMPTING to do so. Draw it in, and let enough smoke back out so you can comfortably taste the blend, roll it around a bit, and let it out. Enjoy a nice cognac, maybe some scotch, and listen to music with some good friends.

Smoking cigars in this manner is significantly healthier than cigarettes, although it can be argued whether it is completely harmless or not.

If I had enough Habana Cohibas, I wouldnt touch a cigarette ever again. Damn stupid anti-Cuban embargo ><

Well, I guess that's why we have the internet

I don't smoke anything other some hookah. I don't care about all the health issues, it's just the smell. I HATE the smell. I have smoked cigarettes before, and I really just don't get it. It's exactly like sucking on garbage wrapped in cardboard, and it's not particularly relaxing. And again, that damn smell doesn't come off for days.
