You ever have a bad day, or something in one game frustrates you to the point that you contemplate tossing your tv out a window? I have. So I want to know what game do you play to vent some of that steam? I have yet to find a good one myself, but one that i have that will do til i find a good one is Saints Row 2.

God of War is great for working off frustration. Every time I'm pissed i load the final boss fight of God of War 3 and beat the final boss to a pulp with quick time events, mainly the circle button

Fallout 3. Nothing helps me relieve stress like going into Megaton, finding that fucking annoying Moira Brown, and hitting her head off with a variety of melee weapons in slow motion VATS cinematics. I would sometimes spend up to an hours just reloading my save to find a new weapon with which to end her.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. I don't even need to play, the music alone calms me, but killing things and running around do help a lot.

Postal 2. Something about walking around the streets and lighting people on fire.. relaxes me >=)
I've never intended to toss my computer out the window... I dunno why I would :p I've punched my monitor before though, that was fun.

The Halo games. Say what you will about them, but there's always a challenging, yet winnable difficulty for everyone. And if I get REALLY angry, I can just load a mission with the spartan laser and use it on everything that looks at me funny. Including the marines.

Civilization Revolution is a nice, relaxing game. But when it's hardcore stress relief I need, I pop in Oblivion. I pay a call to my Adoring fan. Invite him up to my Tower of Wizardry for some magical club sandwiches or whatever. Then I take him up to the very top, and shoot him in the face with an arrow and watch him fall.

Stepmania helped keep me sane at one point. It still helps to this day.

Other than that, my visual novels help me unwind.

Good cathartic games like Devil May Cry (3) or Saint's Row 2. Any game where I can easily just murder mass amounts of anything is a good way to cool me off.

Forza 3 relaxes me greatly. I love the game, it has allowed me to catch up on those few missed hours of sleep many many times. Not saying it's a bad game, i mean it when i say 'i love the game'. It just seems to make me so tired :p

I've never thrown a TV out of a window, say what you will about the materialistic compulsion to gather stuff and clutter but it does tend to lead to me taking care of the things I have. Plus on top of that my TV is a fairly large flat-screen I got on sale for ~$400, that's not a deal I'm likely to find again any time soon nor would I be able to afford even that much to replace it. As such, if I was going to violently vent my frustration on something I own my TV would be just about on the bottom of the list of potential victims.

Anyway, I don't usually play games to calm down because often times the game itself becomes the source of frustration. About the closest thing I have to a calming game is more of a procedure really:

1) Get a Dr. Pepper
2) Fire up the latest episode of Fear the Boot. [http://www.feartheboot.com/ftb/]
3) Play solitare while listening to above latest episode.
4) Relax. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZEPq0FvFm3g]

That's just what I do personally.
