I don't say this often (especially here, considering the audience), but it seems to me like you should play the "do something else for awhile" game. You, my friend, are teetering on the brink between "gamer" and "addict". Might do you some good to give up games for a bit and see how that goes.

Although if you must use gaming to motivate you, it's more productive to use playing games as a reward for reaching certain achievements (solve 10 math problems then play one [insert shooter game] online match, for example), rather than taking a break from gaming to do work. If you play before work, chances are you'll ignore the work and keep playing (because you clearly didn't want to do the work in the first place. Hence, the situation). Neither scenario is particularly appealing, but homework is homework and (believe it or not) it's pretty important.

Or you can try to blend the homework itself into a game. "It's all on you, dude. The fate of your grade is in your hands. Good luck." *salute*
actually i havent picked up a game in a while, not doing my homework is my guitars fault, but thank you. good suggestions

In this case, I say play the game of real life.

If you lose now, you will forever pay for it.

If you win in another game, it will matter as much as piss. The real life one is kinda better.
Dammit! You made me lose the game!

OT: Do your goddamn homework mister!

Hooray! Now that you're finished, you can play all kinds of games!

But if you were not finished, you could play Dwarf Fortress with your toes. That will make it fail FASTER!

I've got a better idea: JUST DO THE HOMEWORK.

There's no game that'll be fun if you're concentratinfg on homework at the same time.
Not to mention the low quality of output. Just do your gods-damned work. I'm in the same boat pulling an all-nighter because I slacked off over the long weekend.

Oblivion, every time you level up a skill, break a repair hammer, or run into the same voice actor twice.

k, so i had that flu and missed like a week of school, apparently the first of the two weeks that has the most epic amount of homework ever, this passed week being the second. so of course, me being me, had this three day weekend to do it all, but i didnt(i know, i know. i fail.). but i came up with an idea, since i have to stay up all night and do this shit, i should figure out a way to intergrate a game into it! so i figured everytime i died in mw2 i could do a homework promblem, or or i could play minecraft, but id need some help with my strategy, or you could tell me a new game( i have all consols) and a strategy! ps. i have ALOT of games. help?
Hmmmmmm, here's a radical and controversial idea. Why don't you get your homework done, then play games? That's the only way you're going to get decent grades, and trust me, I know. I've just finished my second year of university, so I've been through all that and more. Do your homework, and don't complain. Maybe spend 15 minutes or so playing Tetris or something shbort like that every hour or so, or read a chapter of a book every hour, just to break it up a little bit. But don't be playing games during your work, or you'll never get it done and you'll fail your classes.

Here's a little story for you. My late uncle, when he was at school, used to have his mother, my grandmother, lie to his friends when they called round for him, saying he was at the library or something. Instead, he was in his room studying. He managed to pass all his exams and make a very successful career as a journalist, after going to university, and had a very successful life. His friends, who went out and played games and didn't spend any time on their work, both had to do that whole year again. What would you rather do? Retake the entire year, or have a successful life doing what you want in a good career?

EDIT: When typing this I thought you were a school student, a teenager or something. Then I saw your profile and that says you're 25. In which case...

DO THE BLOODY WORK AND STOP COMPLAINING!!!!! My God, how the hell are you going to cope when you (eventually) graduate and have to get a proper job? You can't play games in an office while writing reports or working on spreadsheets or whatever, you know...

Yeah, this pretty much. You really should just be focusing on your homework.

Made me chuckle, well done. WTF happened to lady gaga in your avatar? I've been looking for an excuse to ask.

Just do it, is my recommendation.
After I had that forum event when a bunch of people changed to my then current lady carrey avatar, I changed to lady cosby.
