I currently have 6 on my desktop, and sweet mother of Christ knows how many in my 'Games' folder.

Significantly more than most would have, that's for damn sure.

I have Animamundi, World of Warcraft, and Diablo II on my desktop. (Granted, I have to pop the disc in to play Diablo II, but the icon's still there.)

Grand total of zero, all I have on my desktop is my recycle bin, and a program for bass tabs.

I tend to pin them to the start menu, and have a neat little filing system on the dsktop depending on the genre of game I feel like

It's less likely than you think.

I'm almost obsessive about keeping my desktop empty. There's not a single icon on it, and even the start-bar hides automatically when I'm not using it. The only time I have anything at all on my desktop is when I haven't had the time to put it in its proper folder.
