I think you die. That's it. No afterlife. You don't get any extra guys. You die, you might get remembered by some, but that doesn't change the inevitable fact of all-consuming death.

What? Too dark?
Huh! I sob!!!

"What atheists believe in?" Sounds like someone understands atheist belief about as much as men understand women.

It was made as a joke(a very complex ironical joke that I can understand).

Oh c'mon, you could have provided us with vomit bags before unleashing that clichéd hollywood uplifting dialogue on this thread.

For god sake man, have some consideration!

Who's to say really. I don't believe in an afterlife, but I think the concept of the Eternal Return is a better prospect then the religious ones.

Depends. If you are a good person you will reap the rewards and go to heaven. If not you burn inhell.

There is no such thing as reincarnation.

Oooh psychics! I wasn't sure if you meant psychics or physics, or neither. Well my explanation is: The majority of so-called-psychics are full of shit, and are complete frauds. I want to believe in an afterlife, but I find it hard to believe anyone has 'a connection with the dead', as it is easy just to make shit up on the spot instead.

I'd hate for it to be what happens, but I can't see much more than the nothingness like before you were born. Similarly depressing is the fat that reincarnation means that you are effectively dead anyway, all of your memories and genetics (everything that makes you you) is gone. When you think about it, if reincarnation exists, we must all have been reincarnated a few times now...

And heaven and hell just seems too devoid of any reasoning to me (but how the hell should I know)

Hmm, I should probably lighten up a bit

Don't know. There's plenty of answers available, just pick one. However, that doesn't necessarily mean what you pick is what's going to happen of course. *kaff* Though...I'd prefer to wait and see rather than get my hopes up about anything. Then of course...this holds something of a 'death-bed confession' in that...most of these afterlife things require a certain amount of belief, but, any of them could be right, just on the basis of what any specific one says is the right end.

And, even the atheistic belief of you're dead and that it, is as much a belief as the others. Seems you can't win either way. That is, if you don't have a belief, then you rot with no future past death, if -do- have a belief then there's a possibility for eternal life/good re-incarnation or eternal torment/bad re-incarnation.

On another note. Let's say a type of heaven -is- real, and you're an atheist, but you've lived a good life. Dante's one's have this for us I think, from Wikipedia for what that's worth ^^': "unbaptized and the virtuous pagans, who, though not sinful, did not accept Christ. Here also reside those who, if they lived before the coming of Christ, did not pay fitting homage to their respective deity. They are not punished in an active sense, but rather grieve only their separation from God, without hope of reconciliation. The chief irony in this circle is that Limbo shares many characteristics with Elysian Fields; thus the guiltless damned are punished by living in a deficient form of Heaven."

But, even after all that, what if I still don't believe? Guess, I stay in 1/2 heaven forever? *shrug* If any of this exists of course.

Not those kind of pychics!!! The kind that can enter your mind, levitate stuff, set stuff on fire... not the ones that can talk to the dead(like gypies, which I cant shake the hate of). Think of pychonauts or Psi-Ops

Deep topic. It depends what religion you are. Muslims, Christian or Jewish, most 'major' religions have a concept of a God and of Heaven or Hell. Scientifically, I find it hard to believe that there's anything after death, because there's no proof. Spiritually, I'm Jewish, so I want to believe there's a God, who will judge me fairly, and since I don't think I've sinned enough to warrant Hell, I think I'll go to Heaven.

Because those totally exist, just like the magical, talking, chainsaw-wielding, lottery-number-picking frog that lives in my closet. People say they can't see him...they say I'm crazy....

I like to think that beings with super human abilities exist and that theres a scientific basis to all of them.
