The 360 controller for shooters, Dualshock 3 controller for everything else since the 360 controller's d-pad is complete shit. The Dualshock 3's accelerometer is pretty awesome as well. It just needs to be used correctly, like in Flower and Killzone 2.

Why is there no NES controller on that list?!?

Seriously, you get a D-PAD and 2 buttons. That is all you need!

My vote is for NES...
As I mentioned I couldnt fit them all on the list
You didn't really give people much to choose from...
again, as I said 8 is the maximum amount of polling options I would have added all of them if The Escapist made more options.

I haven't really played anything with an Xbox controller to really give my opinion on it.

So, I'd have to say Gamecube.

The leading intrawebz experts have spoken.
Gamecube was just....so easy, okay it looked childish but you can't tell me it didn't feel comfortably simply easy.
Though for 4chan's tiers, I'd have put Dreamcast in middle for cutting analog stick, PS2 controller in top tier because it's pretty well laid out and Xbox controller in shit tier because it IS the embodiment of clunky.

Gamecube here... pretty much perfect as far as shape and button layout went. Only drawback was how short the cable was.

I voted the PS controller, although I do love the 360 controller as well. It's just that learning to use it means overcoming 10 years of muscle memory.

I don't see why you needed EVERY controller from the xbox. The 360 controller is pretty identical to the Xbox controller S. It's sort of odd that you put all the controllers for the other consoles starting with the first controller for that console...except you didn't do the same for Nintendo. It's almost like you completely skipped the NES...

i figured not to put the NES controller, cuz not alot of people would not vote for it seeing as it only had a direction pad and 2 buttons, plus the xbox s and 360 controllers feel alot different, the xbox s is alot bigger, the poll proves that the original was a failure, and the 360 is a hit, considering the s model is last and 360 model is in 1st, meaning there is obviously a big difference between the 2
Also the NES had nowhere near as many sales as the SNES did, meaning more people have used it, plus if your under the age of 23 you prolly have not used a NES controller, I am 20 I have never used one let alone held one in my hands

The button layout on the GC controller was simply incredible, and has not been surpassed. I do think it was a bit small though. If the prongs were lengthened it would be perfect.

That said, I haven't used the 360 controller that much so I might be jumping to conclusions.

Man, I picked up my PS control last night for the first time in a while to play KZ2. The controller feels so random now, all light and the joysticks move too softly. Ive been playing 360 most of the past month or two. I used to really like the PS control but now im quite soured. 360 is far better for the current generation games.

And yes I was getting my thumbs hitting each other im used to my thumbs being on the middle of the stick.

PS Duelshock fits perfectly into my hands. The others I've used aren't uncomfortable, but they're not as good as PS for me.

Xbox 360 is definately the prime controller. Recently I bought a controller for my PC and opted for Xbox 360 style, imagine my glee when I found that it hand finger grooves on the back....Ooh comfort, thy name is SpeedLink.

Had to edit this, does anyone remember the initial ps3 controller design?

I assume the people here who aren't choosing The Gamecube (specifically The Wavebird) haven't had a lot of gametime with it. Gets my vote.

I rebought Killer 7 for this reason alone.

I gotta go for the xbox controllers, having them in your hands somehow feels reasuring.
They're not too big, too small, too flat or too thick. They win

God the PS3 controller is a POS. The R2 and L2 buttons feel like they are going to fall off everytime I push them. And there is just something wrong with the feeling of both the R1/R2 L1/L2 buttons together. The rest of the controller is fine but I just cant stand those. R1/L1 by themselves are fine but with the 2 buttons everything just feels funky.
