I'd do it. Then after getting my powers betray the government, start my evil organisation and dominate the world!

Is there any reason I couldn't use my superhuman powers to get away and see my family and friends again?
Thinking outside the box. Nice.

OT: If I had no friends and family that really mattered to me, then yes.
But seeing as I do...no.

I don't care about superhuman powers or any of that nonsense, the most important people to me are my family and friends.

I would do it, then turn on them once I am fully trained and equipped with the stereotypical power-armor which will allow me to escape and see my family and friends again...then go on epic adventures as the government tries to hunt me down and kill me....sounds like a good movie.

=\ i would never be able to live with out my other half... But if his life was at risk then yes but since it isn't then no... I'd never leave his side.. especially without saying goodbye or him knowing where I was.. I just wouldn't be able to do that to him

I never see my friends or family. Most of my friends are over the PSN or various instant messenger services. So I'd do it because as I never "see" my friends anyway, I'm good. :p (See, loopholes CAN be fun)

Not to mention, I have a terrible relationship with the rest of my friends and family back in Tennessee (where I moved from) so...will I miss them? Nope. Let's do this!

Yes, as long as there are no selfdestruction chips implanted (or anything which goal is to kill me).

I have way too big an attitude problem. If my commander started shouting at me I would have no problem conjecting to him that he is the product of incest. Plus knowing my luck I would stumble on some great big conspiracy that means I have to fight off the entire government in secret. Besides as movies keep telling us, for the people who actually want super powers and willingly allow themselves to obtain them... it always ends badly. They either turn into a monster or the villain and end up dying. Only the tragic people who earn the power by accident or have it from birth who who have it given to them against their will does it ever turn out right for them.

No thank you. I am very happy with my research job. Plus no matter how much I got paid the Government would probably tax me 90 percent and fix a microchip in my head which makes me do paperwork.

Never trust the Government. Especially when that want to GIVE you something.

I hate my family and I only have a select few friends whom I don't think will miss me a whole lot anyways... Why not?

Well I would miss my family and they'd miss me more than I missed them so I'd feel pretty shitty thinking about my parents not knowing what the fuck happened to their son. Then again... super soldier...

If I could say goodbye and tell them what's going on then I would become the super-soldier, if not I don't think I would.
