First instrument I played was the recorder, which I hated a few years later I played the trumpet, which I also hated. Then I played the french horn, again I hated it. I moved to Canada and I now play electric bass and guitar and love playing music now :D.

I would enjoy to hear if anybody else plays different instruments :)

Yeah, I was forced to play the recorder, as well. It sucked. :(

Then I was forced to play the violin. If I wasn't forced, I wouldn't say it sucked. And yet...

Then I played african and brazilian drums. I was forced there, too, but it didn't suck.

Then I played a little bit of guitar. I still do, but not as often as I wish.

Now I play the snare drum and the base drum. Pretty easy, but fun as hell!

Played the guitar quite decently. However I lost interest in playing it as soon as I started learning to build them back at age 19.

I was also forced to play the recorder in school. I hated it. In high school I also on occasion had to play xylophone and keyboard, but it wasn't as extensive as recorder in elementary school.

I hated all of it and have never played an instrument out of my own free will. Now I think that it would be cool if I could play the guitar (or the piano), but I don't really want to put in the effort to learn. Also, I'm pretty sure I'd be horrendously bad at it.

I currently play the keyboard (for four years now), but I used to play fife (two years) and violin (three years).

No piano on the poll? That was my first instrument; I'd be surprised if it wasn't other people's as well.

Anyway, now I mainly play the guitar. It's amazing, though I'm four years in and still wish I played better.

I've also dabbled in drums, in marching band and otherwise. I can keep a basic beat on a drum set, but other than that I'm not too good at it. It's something I plan on working on.

Played a little bit of acoustic guitar in primary school and recently figured that my finger picking would transalte well in becoming a bass player. Unfortunately the much thicker strings make it more difficult to pluck with speed, but I'll probably get there eventually.

I played viola for six years before switching to cello, which I have been playing for about four years. I've played guitar for six years and bass for around four as well. I also play mandolin, sort of, for about two years, and am currently learning banjo.

Recorder was mandatory. Guitar, bass, mandolin, cello, and piano were not. And any number of synthesizer toys and computer programs pretty much round out the list.

My mom's a music teacher, so me and my siblings got the works. Started off with the violin, then piano, clarinet and bass. Every time I showed any interest in an instrument she smothered me with enthusiasm (I have perfect pitch, and she doesn't like seeing things go to waste), so I'm a little wary of instruments.

My boyfriend plays the double bass, which I think is totally cool. Tried it a few times, thinking of maybe learning a bit.

Started off with the recorder in year 1 (so I was...6? I think...)
I hadn't even finished playing my first note before the teacher suggested it was best for me to never enter the music department again...

Learnt to play the keyboard and piano in year 7 (age 11) at my current school. Never really enjoyed it, haven't played it in 7 years.
Learnt to play accoustic guitar, enjoyed it. Despite the fact I'm not that good, because I played it left handed, my teacher gave me full marks in my exam (he was awesome)
Same awesome teacher tought me to play bass. Absolutely loved it. Played for 3 years.
If I can ever get the cash, I'd love to buy a bass and start playing again.

Oh yeah, I can also play the didgeridoo, despite the fact I'm as boring and British as you can get, and pretty asthmatic. My class found this out after one of them brought one back after a holiday, and had the music class try and play it.I was the only one whi could haha.

Euphonium, Tuba, Bass, and Banjo

Only thing is I wish that I had more time to play.

Violin, but only for about two years as a kid. I still own one, and I keep it ready to play, but I can barely read music and I don't know any songs... I should probably spend more time with it...

Cello, piano, ocarina, didgeridoo.

Oddly enough, I've tried guitar and just can't do it. The strings are too finicky for me. Plus my hands are just too used to how I grip a cello.

Long live guitar. I just love that instrument , but i guess it was my teacher who inspired me very much.
