Trumpet's my main instrument, but over the years I've also sung in choirs, played recorder for many years (bass recorder ftw) and dabbled with piano.

Trumpet. Well, technically it's the coronet, but that's basically a trumpet, re-arranged to be more compact, but is played, and sounds almost exactly the same. (I say almost because sometimes the acoustics gave me a weird sound when I played).

But then I later switched to baritone, because my band didn't have one. Not too much fun carrying that a mile to and from school each day.

I play the tromBONE. The manliest of all instruments.
Amen brother. I play the Trombone, Euphonium and Tuba and I'd play them all at the same time if the band conductor had his way. Switching instraments in the same concert (or sometimes the same song) is a pain. I can also sing pretty well.

Pity there's no ability to select multiple options for polls, That way I could do Vocals, Guitar, and Drums (Depending what is required by the band). Oh well those are what I play, although to be fair I don't play drums very well cause I'm a massive noob. (also my vocals is really amateur).

Why is there no option for not playing an instrument? Seems weird to me.

Easy Solution For If You Don't Play An Instrument:

Very clever. *sigh* I didn't vote... but the only purpose of a poll is to see how many people fit in different brackets, and what is the point of seeing, for example, that 37% of those who responded play bass guitar when perhaps just as many people who read the post don't play an instrument at all?

Knowing which of those instruments is most played in this sample when you don't know how many people in the sample play instruments at all seems rather pointless.

what if he only wanted to know the instrument choices of people who do play instruments, and isn't interested in what percentage of the forum plays any instrument at all?

Was attempting to learn guitar, then I realised everyone I know who can play guitar still hasn't been able to get over that fact themselves and the idea is tainted.

I'd like to learn an instrument, otherwise I've miss an opportunity. Vocals would be a dream, but I don't have the voice for it. My flat-mate for next year has a keyboard so I may start practising with that and see if music grabs my attention again...

I play the Piano. I stopped having lessons a while back and stop doing grades at grade 3 a good few years ago. I'm about a grade 6 standard now, I haven't really had the time to play propery in the last 2 years, but I haven't "lost the touch"...yet.

I play guitar, bass guitar and sing. I'm just slightly above inexperienced with the instruments however, since I never bother to practise.

I'm a vocalist by birth, I'm a guitarist by interest and I'm a computer-player(synth) by lolz.

My entire family sings, so I do as well.
I learned to play the guitar, because I kindda had to to have anything to do in music class, while the lasses sang.
I synth when I need to create a new song to sing, for family and friends (and other loved ones *wink* *wink*).

If it doesn't require air to be blown into to make a noise, I can play it.
String and percussion win.

Cello and drums.
Seconded... though wary, you no like piano?

Piano, violin, viola, harpsichord (*sigh* yes, I know that's cheating, but the technique's different) & baritone (singing, or at least I used to)

harmonic (diatonic) just because they sound good, tempted to get a chromatic, also been thinking of getting an acoustic guitar
