Apparently people are wired to find unusual/rare features attractive because of an instinct to increase the gene pool. It explains why lots of people see redheads as particularly hot and probably explains this too.

I thought she was Hispanic in portal 1 but in portal 2 she looks like a girl I know who is Tongan/ Japanese. Not that I'm any good at judging race by facial features.
