We all know that there's life out there, saying there isn't is like saying there's only one species of fish in the sea or that the world should only be in black in white. Question is how will other races see humanity? Will they see us as a proud warrior race? Or maybe a species built around economic gain and profit? Maybe our artistic and cultural past or even our technological advances(like if we were compared to other races, we met certain criterias of tech years before others, like we achieved efficient use of gunpowder 20 years before others)? Maybe we're supposed to behave as politicians?

Feel free to use your knowledge of sci fi or modern world history to base your opinion. But if you're one of those "Humanity is shit" people, please bugger off, your total killjoys.

Warriors or scientists. We don't need to corrupt, or add our politicians to the galaxy. If we focus, our scientific advances can exceed many expectations. But warriors cause our history is filled with blood.

So you want us to stereotype the entire human species? No, just no.

Also, we don't know if there is life out there. People just assume because the universe is massively huge that we aren't the only life out there. Unless humanity encounters extraterrestrial life, I will not say we know there is life beyond our planet.

A combination of warriors and religious Im guessing. We have enough armed conflicts, crime and military research and mobilization to justify warriors - and religion has a massive infulence on us today and throughout history.

Putting it in Spore terms that makes us Zealots =p

Seeing that we have spent more time devising ways to kill other sentient beings than just about anything else I think warriors is a safe bet.

As i'm typing warriors is in the lead which surprises me since less than 10% of our population are warriors and we no longer believe in using "total war". I said a combination because as a species we don't have one single identity we have all kinds of different people with different values and different occupations.

Probably Parasites, like We human think ticks are.

We're the only race trying to kill ourselves.

We're not a warrior race in the strictest sense. We don't have a survival of the fittest mentality (do I dare mention Kilingons, probably safer to mention Krogan). However we do have a lot of spending on weapons, particularly nuclear weapons and we're definitely not united as a species...

It really depends on the aliens, our main defining characteristic could be anything from out political structures to breathing oxygen...

every race out there, including us, is combination because, despite what science fiction would have you beleive, their is no such thing as a planet of hats [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/PlanetOfHats]

I was going to post the same link. That is a trope I always hate, except when works like Mass Effect are trying (failing, but trying) to subvert it.

There's an argument that only creatures with certain personality traits are going to end up being intelligent spacefarers in the first place. So I'd imagine that aliens are a lot more like us than we might expect.

to universe? probably a freak accident that cuased something magnificent/dreadful/that shouldn't have happened. However if you speaking about "to the universe" as "to other lifeforms" we'd probably look like warriors due to our constant conflict whith eachother and the enviroment

More of a "Get the fuck out our way or we'll smash you" warrior race than a proud warrior race. But I picked the first option.

I would say we would have very little to add to a race or collection of races that had achieved interplanetary travel, certainly in terms of technology or weaponry. Our physical characteristics could possibly set us apart, but there is no way of knowing. The biggest thing humanity could probably give is our planets ecosystem, with such a rich diverse plant and animal life on our planet, I'm sure another race of intelligent beings would be facinated in studying exactly how our planet has flourished.

Well this isn't by country, it's by the entire planet the human race/species as a whole
