AMD Phenom II 925 2.8GHz Quad-core (overclocked to 3.0 GHz)
4Gb 1333MHz (7-7-7-21) DDR3 RAM
ATI Radeon HD 5750 1Gb GDDR5 (Club3D) (overclocked performance by ~10%)
Asus AM3 AMD785G motherboard
Corsair VX550W PSU
22" BenQ LCD widescreen
500Gb SATA-HDD
basic logitech speakers, mouse and keyboard.
But next to me stands a Pioneer 4-point stereo system with 120W speakers, with a RCA-plugin cord ready to be snapped to my comp audio output at any time :)

Built this for 500? last christmas, excluding (naturally) the Pioneer stereo system, the Win7 64-bit Ultimate I'm using (upgraded from XP via students-only deal) and the display (from my previous comp). I use it mainly for work and gaming/internets.

CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU 750 @ 2.67GHz
Mobo: MSI P55-CD53
RAM: 4GB DDR3 1333
HD: 2.5 TB
Monitor: 17" Tiburon HL1700F (It was 40 bucks, okay)
Mouse: Logitech MX51
Blingboard: Microsoft Sidewinder X6

Yeah; nothing much to wave around, but that's what happens when you're too cheap to enter the four-digit realm of price tags. =) Still; it gets me online, and it manages to run games at high settings.

Why only one 480? You've already hit the point where you've got a stupid amount of cash invested in your rig (ain't it a great feeling?) so just slap another in there. The 480s aren't that awesome when run by themselves.

Yeah, I'm not so good with computers and what's inside, I just compared stuff and asked around and eventually just ran out of money.. Lot of fun putting it together though. I'm thinking about upgrading it and get a new monitor when cash is flowing.

The 480 is a great card, but yeah, they're best run in SLI. My rig still has some holes in it too though. I want to get a better mobo so that I've got more room to work on it. The p6T SE is a great mid range board, but I'd like to have some more room down on the PCI slots. Once I've done that, I'm gonna slap an Nvidia in as my second card and run a hybrid rig using a driver hack. The raw power of the 5970 + Nvidia's PhysX. Fuck yeah.

Recommend any upgrades to my current setup? Other than setting fire to Windows7 and getting 95 instead.

I was fuckin' pissed when I saw the new Tempest. I wondered why didn't they paint the original Tempest black inside. I had to paint my case myself and that is a tedious process. I also put the side panel fan on my PSU (just cause LED PSU is cool) and I bought a faster fan for the side panel. LED is blue but new fan is actually orange.

Lol, what's wrong with W7? I've been using it since Beta and love the shit out of it.

Tbh, you're mostly fine for now. The 480 is a great card so don't worry too much about SLI'ing it (though it is a beast when SLI'd). I would get a sound card in there at some point though. The difference in audio quality is gonna be huge.

The only reason I'm not running crossfire in my rig is just cause my x16 slots would put two 5970s right next to each other, and I'd rather not start a fire inside of my case. I could watercool the whole mess, but I'm not particularly motivated enough to jump into that.

Ever tried playing Kings Quest or Duke Nukem 3D on W7? It's like a big monkey giving it to you in a real unpleasant way. I tried playing DN3D yesterday and I got a real weird error: *Achtung, W7 wollen nicht spielen diese spiel!*. I got worried my pc would goose-step out of my house.

Other than that it's ok. A bit flashy and a bit show off, really.

I have no idea what the specs of my laptop are, seeing as how it's a crappy 5 year old hand-me-down. I only know it doesn't even have 1 gig of RAM, a small hard drive, constantly freezes and crashes, can't run any games whatsoever. I say it's time to euthanize this hunk of junk.

Oh, and I only use it for school, internet, and that's it.

I honestly have no idea what the hell is in my computer, I really only use it for school (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint)

I do know that it can't play any games from after 2000...piece of crap
