Pie is either sweet or savoury. In America though, it seems that pie usually refers to a sweet pie, whereas I think here in England most people would assume pie is savoury. If someone told me we were having pie for dessert, it would take me a second to get what they meant, unless they specifically said apple pie or whatever.

Either way, they're both delicious.

Funnily enough original Cornish pasty's had meat in one side a divider of pastry and fruit in the other, so that fisherman could have dinner and desert =)
