Amon Amarth, Ghost, The World Inferno/Friendship Society, Evelyn Evelyn...too many shows to count man. All sick-awesome performances.

The best weekend of my life was when I went to Heavy MTL last summer. I got to see Children of Bodom, In Flames, As I lay Dying, Opeth, Suicide Silence and many others. I can't decide which was the best.

About a month later I got to see Amon Amarth, and that was pretty damn awesome. They opened the show with "War of the Gods," and my buddies and I charged into the mosh pit. We were exhausted by the time the show was over.

Out of curiousity, do you consider a live comedy event to be a 'gig?' If so, I went to see Gabriel Iglesias live. He had a few other comedians with him that were all pretty good, and he was amazing himself. Did more then an hour longer then he was supposed to do (which likely annoyed the place hosting it), told us some really interesting stories of his family life, revealed a secret project, and told us about a gig that ended... badly. It was pretty amazing. The friends I went with and I all had a great time.

The best concert I've ever seen live was easily TOOL. Amazing imagery by Alex Grey, incredible performance, and just an all around blast! GO SEE TOOL LIVE!!!

Nightwish, one of their last before Tarja was kicked out. I consider myself very lucky.

Probably the Foxboro Hot Tubs, which was a Green Day side project. The 3 members of the band, plus longtime touring lead guitar player Jason White and keyboard player Jason Freese, under alias', played a short tour of 8 small venues. I caught them at a bar called One Eyed Jack's in New Orleans, and it was awesome. Though I did almost die about 6 times cos I was about 2 people back from the stage and Billie Joe Armstrong kept telling the audience "Flock to the stage! Come my children, gather 'round! Smother each other!" I'm a little guy (about 5'7", 120 lbs) in a sea of giants.

Runner up would have to be Carney, the musical group of Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark star Reeve Carney and his brother Zane. It was an excellent show. They're a lesser known group, so everyone there was really into their music, which provided a great atmosphere. They were also very friendly ("We're not leaving this place until everyone comes by after the set and says hi!") and had great chemistry between them onstage. That was how I spent last Valentine's Day.

Machine Head at Wembley Arena in December, supported by Darkest Hour, Devildriver and Bring Me The Horizon. BMTH weren't as bad as I thought they would be, even if they didn't get a good reception from the crowd. As a side not, I'd also like to say when I saw slipknot at Download in 2009 as well...god that was an epic show

Damn, man. Judas Priest, Megadeth and Testament during a single show. It was frickin' awesome.

Definitely Turisas back in November. They were great with the crowd, played all my favourite songs by them and March of the Varangian Guard as an opener was mind-blowing, that orchestral intro... damn. I really hope they tour again.

I'm hopeful for Tyr this week too.

First of all I must say I am pleased to see that 80% of the votes say they have been to a gig.

My best experience was Rise Against at a festival in 2008. I got a high five from the lead singer and even exchanged a few words with him after the show. The concert was in itself the most awesome thing I've ever seen. Close second is Stephen Lynch which was a different kind of awesome. I saw him last summer and I laughed until my jaws hurt.

I think this list might change within the next month. Going to see Rise Against, Touché Amoré and Architects. I can't wait.

I saw Megadeth at the Warfield in San Fransisco. In this Moment and a band who's name alludes me opened for them. Megadeth's line up was James Lomenzo (bass), Glen Drover(guitar), and Shawn Drove(drums). I mention their line up because any one who's familiar with Megedeth knows their line up is as stable as the middle east.

Went to see Dropkick Murphys last night at the Glasgow Barrowlands ballroom, such an amazing, upbeat, rowdy gig with the best atmosphere I've ever experienced. I'd probably say that it's a tie between DKM and Flogging Molly. I went to Taste of Chaos as well (Disturbed, Papa Roach, Buckcherry and Halestorm), and despite Halestorm being a surprise favourite and Disturbed being one of my favourite bands at the time, that fact that they'd hired a much bigger venue than they could fill left the gig feeling empty with a rather dead atmosphere. I'm very much looking forward to seeing Prodigy and deadmau5 in December at the moment.

Special mention must be made to the absolute chaotic awesomeness that ensued once "I'm Shipping Up To Boston" started.

I go to a lot of gigs and festivals so this is a hard question. I can give a short list

Nine Inch Nails in 2007 - Just wow.
Bruce Springsteen - Still The Boss
Blur - 2009 - Their reunion gig at Glastonbury Festival blew my mind
Arcade Fire - Seen them perform four times now, one of my favourite bands of all time. Just phenomenal
Paul McCartney - 2010. What an experience that was. Glad to have seen him.

Honorably mention goes to Florence and The Machine. Blew me away and was genuinely surprised by how good she was. Seen her twice and seeing her a third time next month, where I'll see her new album live. Very excited.

Saw Muse at Wembley in 2010, they were incredible. I was with a guy who didn't get into it much which was a bit of a downer but meh... Biffy Clyro supported and were on to form to.

After that, I'd say Gojira at sonisphere festival. That band comes onstage and crushes you. Holy shit.

Third place is torn between Slipknot (also sonisphere) and silhouettes, a local Djent band who've now disbanded.

Video Games Live blew every other concert I've been to out of the water.
