Turning Marathon into Halo would hardly be a bad thing, not to mention that Halo is already regarded as its spiritual successor regardless and is wearing its influences on its sleeve.B-Cell said:bungie will ruined it. they will turn it into Halo or destiny.Ezekiel said:I was never interested in those ancient shooters, though. I actually really like the written terminals. They have a certain atmosphere and style with the graphical glitches, system error datadumps, half-translated language and accompanying slides that would be lost if they were voiced or cutscenes. You can take your time and pick through them. Obviously not a particularly suitable delivery method for a modern remake, though. I'm not entirely sure I'd want to see a remake anyway. The thing I value most about Marathon is the atmosphere, and that's such an ephemeral and hard to capture quality (especially when half the team that worked on Marathon are no longer around Bungie). But who knows?Hawki said:Turning Marathon into Halo would hardly be a bad thing, not to mention that Halo is already regarded as its spiritual successor regardless and is wearing its influences on its sleeve.B-Cell said:bungie will ruined it. they will turn it into Halo or destiny.Ezekiel said:I was never interested in those ancient shooters, though. On the subject of Marathon, I'd be fully onboard for a remake. While Marathon has a pretty decent story, it's hamstrung by its manner of delivery (text. Lots of text).
