Poll: What is the best generation of gaming consoles

0th, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th or 7th. Which one do you think is the greatest. For me it's the 5th with the Playstation and the Nintendo 64, they were the most fun, no ultra-competetiveness and the simplicity of it all. COLECOULTRA FTW!!!

Wii is last gen, and as such does not count. OR remember that PC counts as a console as well >_>

I'm counting the handheld consoles as well. (Then it's six and I own 3)
(Wii, Xbox, PS3, PSP, PSPGO, DS)

I like the the 5th and 6th generation best.

N64, PSX and PS2 had some of the msot epic games ever, though I'm still really fond of the "charm" of old school 2D games.
I think that may be why I love to play Game Boy still.

I started with 4th (Sega Megadrive, original Gameboy), but 5th (PS1) is the one I have most fond memories of.

I will say 7th, because 1) There's a variety of games which are only criticized because they are functionally older games with better graphics. So you can still play the older game, just also have it be a bit prettier. 2) Backwards compatibility. I can still play older games with current gen stuff. 3) Gaming is evolving. Its good to appreciate your roots, but gaming is getting better, if you know where to look.

I would count the PSP and DS in there, too.
