Amnesia. Although it's the only horror game I've played, it's a damn good one...I swear to God, I've never been more scared in my life than by the invisible shark.

Doom 3 - too dark, boring.
Silent Hill 2 - didn't age that well.
Dead Space - YEA !
Amnesia: The Dark Descent - i don't like to play role of coward.
Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem - never played it.
Resident Evil - YEA !

Conclusion : Dead Space, but only 1st part. Innovative interface, interesting scenario, good atmosphere. I like it very much.

Silent Hill 2 for me, I've played through it a few times and I still don't have the courage to play it at night in the dark! Eternal Darkness is a close second along with Project Zero, that game is brilliant.

Sweet Home for the NES.

Perhaps not the best survival horror game out there, since I don't play them much but this game is a very unique little gem that does manage to build a creepy atmosphere despite being on such a comparatively primitive system.

Dark souls/Demon's souls

Without question the scariest survival game(s) i've ever played.

System Shock 2, easy. The constant sense of fear, the brilliant sound effects and voice acting, the knowledge that death is always just around the corner. It's the only game I've played that truly managed to scare me.

You really should've included it on the poll - replacing Doom 3 with System Shock 2 would probably have been a good idea, heh.
