Not true, there is no meaning to life, according to the Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy, the meaning of the Universe is 42. But I can't wait to play Half Life 3 either.
The meaning of life is to find true happiness, but happiness is often confused with materialism from my point of view. In the end, all those pithy lessons you learn about treating each other with decency and working for no reward while you were still in diaper school come back into play. It takes a load of practice to be self-sacrificing, but one has to do their best. We are only human.

Seriously though its an easy answer, to reproduce. 'Life' started as self reproducing RNA molecules and everything that came from them follows the same pattern, to simply reproduce and pass itself on.

Obviously the scientific reason for living, would be to reproduce and to survive and keep the human race going on.
Life doesn't have a set meaning.

There is no specific meaning to life.
However, we can create our own by our choices in life (like a specific career, raising kids, helping others, becoming a megalomaniac mastermind).

Its nothing very special really.
Try and be nice to people, avoid eating fat, read a good book every now and then, get some walking in, and try and live together in peace and harmony with people of all creeds and nations

Personally, I think that the meaning of life is to find your own meaning in life.
