Where's the I'm indifferent option? I've read all the books watched all the movies. You want to know how it's so thick, half of it is Bella explaining how Edward looks yet all of it is so subjective you can picture anyone you feel like it. That's why I think people like it so much, it's a skeleton for a story so you can interpret it anyway you want and have your own little vampire fantasy. Bella is pale, brunette, and has average looks. That's about the most is describes her as so almost any girl shares one trait with her, and she has no personality besides trying to kill herself if Edward isn't nearby.
I first read it after being forced to read the Great Gatsby and anything is good compared to that sorry excuse for a book, even Twilight. At least until I got to the part that vampires sparkle. That pissed me off to no end and almost made me want to stop reading, but being raised watching Buffy I always loved vampires and used there interpretation as a standard. Even if a vampire could go out in daylight it would just be weaker, but it wouldn't sparkle. Other than that I quote Moviebob saying it's "Formula stacked on cliche stacked on bullshit"
