I think the male:female ratio prevents that from being a feasible posibility.
Once again, because you chose to ignore me the first time: Why do you want to know peoples "relationship status", particularly people you have never met, and most likely never will? I don't understand why you started this topic in the first place, I was curious of your motivations. Would you walk up to a random person on the street and ask them?
Sorry for ignoring you the first time: I didn't realize you had posted.

Anyway, my reason is merely for discussion's sake. Plus, I wanted to see if the stereotype 'geeks are lonely' holds true. And it does, if the poll is to be believed. That kind of depresses me.
Alright, so I'm a lonely geek because, for the first time in about seven years, I'm in no relationship for a few months.

You'd first have to assume that everybody here is a geek, which you can't. You could only assume they are interested in gaming, if that makes anybody a geek in your eyes you're, charitably said, very narrow-minded.

I suppose you're right, so allow me to restate the stereotype: 'gamers are usually single' Does that sound a little better?

How many more sterotypes can we fill? Running at 64% single. Ha.

Yes, I'm single.

It indeed does sound better, but now it's not right any more, because now you're talking about any person who is playing video games or has had played a video game. Including casual gamers.
Don't take that too seriously ;)

But what I do think is that the "Single" option is a little too simplified. "Single" can be "single for two weeks" or "never had a relationship at all" - the possibilities are infinite.

Complicated is really the best way to put it. I could say I've been "dating", but in the last couple of months, that's really only included 2 girls, and both of them are trying to lay a claim, trying to get me to take one of them on a "more serious level". I'm almost content to let them fight it out, but I really don't want to go out of my way and be a bastard about this. For all the romantic advice I dole out, I feel kind of stuck...

C'mon man, either a) look on the bright side - dating can be a right pain in the arse, having to check with them when you want to go out and rearrange things cos of their commiments, also as a single you can flirt with anyone you like - or b) get out there and do something about it! Get chatting to different people, try new things and see what happens!

But please, don't just complain on a forum. That rarely helps you, it just makes you feel worse.

dating a best friend is a hard situation no matter which way you swing. Trying to expand on what you already have, while trying to leave enough room in the relationship, so if things turn sour, you're still friends. Needless to say, I made an attempt for my best friend, and she rejected me outright. So, on the bright side, you are a step ahead of me in that department.
