Poll: What is your favorite sin?

Greed: Everyone has an element of greed in them, they'd be lying if they said they didn't. Money is a very seductive thing. It's got the power to make men sell their souls, and it's quite high on my list although i wouldn't call myself greedy per se. I don't care about the money, just having stuff i feel i need or want.

Lust: Eh... Not so hot on this to be honest. Lust isn't really my thing. In fact, i've always held the belief lust is pretty much to blame for the death of love. Not that i'm going to go all poetic and romantic on you, it just bugs me a bit is all.

Envy: I don't really envy anyone to be honest. I'm happy with what i have in my life.

Gluttony: Possibly slightly guilty of this, but that's because i eat a lot of crap and don't really gain any weight. Sometimes i eat out of boredom.

Wrath: I'm not really a wrathful person, unless you've done something to really push me over the edge. Other than that i like to think of myself as forgiveful and / or merciful.

Sloth: My greatest sin. I am very slothful and lazy. I won't do anything unless i have to.

Pride: I have no pride in anything to be honest, except perhaps in my story writing.

Now I harbour plenty of contempt for my fellow man in general as the misanthropic bastard that I am. But in general im governed by reason, logic and basically a sense of cold heartedness wihout much emotion to speak of. So even when I do ventilate my contempt of other people, it's often in a pretty calm and "as a matter of fact"-manner rather than a more passionate and angry manner.

Heck even when I've found myself in a fight (a physical one I mean) I often fight in a cold, calculated and methodical manner against my assailants.

But on the few occasion where I actually do get angry, I can almost feel this all consuming fire welling up. It's gives me a kind of powerful feeling where I feel that I could punch my fist straight through a brick wall. It also gives me grea motivation to accomplish a variety of different tasks that I feel should be completed at the moment.

In a way, it's sort of the same thing like being madly in love with someone. In fact, when it comes to describing the effect and emotion I don't make any distinction between hating someone and loving the person, because they are both equally powerful feelings and they both actually feel GOOD.

So, im a big fan of those moments where my heartbeat rises and my vision turns reddish, I tighten up and i instinctively expose my teeth like some sort of feral animal. They rarely happen, but when they do it is fucking awesome.

Well, actually it has. Then again we're discussing people's FAVOURITE sins now aren't we? When dealing with the topic of "sin" (regardless of it's biblical roots) it kind of implies that it is a behaviour that is somewhat hurtful or destructive either towards oneself or others.

But I think the topic is about exploring the sins that we are still a bit fond of, in a warped and twisted manner, despite their destructive/hurtful consequences that they tend to carry with them.

So come one now, let it rip and tell us what kind of sin is really your favourite. You don't have to care if it "hurts anybody" in this thread, because that's not the issue at hand.

Hello fellow escapists, this thread is search-bar approved and also my first official thread. Woohoo, grats to me, yadda yadda.

To the topic of discussion. What is your favorite sin, and why? Also, how do you feel about the others? This is the internet afterall, so I'm expecting a lot of sloth and pride answers, especially since we're all hardcore gamers here. Also, I accept ties for first place, but your explanation better be good!

So, I'll start. Mine is wrath. I've come to the rather unfortunate realization that I enjoy being angry at people. Not so much being right during an internet argument sort of thing, I'm talking about real life. When people annoy me at work, I enjoy snapping back at them, or telling them to get the hell out of my store and take their snotty attitude with them. Or at my father, who yes, did something terrible to me and my family about a decade ago that I still haven't forgiven him for despite everyone else doing so a while ago. I gain a rather sick sense of pleasure from it, though I'm working on it.

I used to be pretty bad about sloth and pride, I was an elitist prick in highschool. But after moving out on my own and being with a very outgoing but not very booksmart girl for about 4 years I learned those things about myself took far more from me than they ever gave back, and I'm glad to be mostly rid of their influence.

Greed, envy and gluttony are essentially the same thing to me, and I've never been particularly drawn by material possessions or what other people have and I don't, I appreciate what's mine.

Lust is an odd one for me though. In my relationships I did have a lot of sex and I do still think about it a lot but.. due to some physiological and psychological issues sex has always been more about expressing my feelings to another person physically and not so much about my own pleasure.

So, now that my wall o' text is out of the way, add your own views below!

I have an odd fascination with people. Some say I'm a just a horny fuck. But, I'm a virgin. Big ass spoiler, right? Others say I'm a hedonist.......................So what?

Any sin could be interpreted as lust of hedonism.

Wrath is bloodlust.
Greed is lust for money or power.
Pride is lust for self-perfection, self-assurance and elitism.
Sloth is the pleasure of sleep and laziness.
Gluttony is love for food or drink.
Envy is lust for what others' possess.

So, naturally, I'll pick the best one. Lust.
