Escapist forum goers, geniuses or liers? I'm going with the latter.

EDIT:... or the test sucks

Registering an IQ score beyond the age of about 6 is utterly pointless and proves nothing. If you've taken any psych classes, you should've been taught the Standford-Binet IQ test was created to help kids with mental disabilities get recognized quickly so they can be put into the appropriate classes with the attention they need. The Standford-Binet test is still generally what's used, and measures mental growth and aptitude instead of some level of acquired knowledge as most "IQ tests" on the internet do, which are totally bullshit and not worth a minute of your time. Thus, if you don't know your IQ by now and do not have it on file somewhere, you're not going to get an accurate measurement, so stop wasting your time.

For those of you who may disagree with me, I do have a BA in psych, and I've studied the subject of IQ tests before. Do a bit of research on the Standford-Binet test and see what you find.

I really don't think these IQ test are that accurate especially this one, I got a 107 on it, stated that earlier, and i got a 128 on an IQ test from iqtest.com.

Gender: Neutral (nah i'm joking i'm male)

It's weird, I took this other IQ test and got 144 on it.

126, the last 4 were pure guesswork.

Male, age 24 (soon 25).

Just so you know, depending on the test my scores have been between 110-145. I.e., these are not too reliable.

133, 18, male. and this is not an IQ test, it is pattern analysis. an IQ test would test other things too, such as words and numbers.
EDIT: also this number is meaningless unless a standard deviation is given, seeing as how a IQ test is modeled on a normal distribution curve.

24, male 126, this test is all relationships, which are all determinable given enough time and whisky, if the test was mixed the results would be different. I got to 35 before i ran out of time and just guessed...

I think my score was 109, my age is 19, and I'm male.
I sorta understood some of the "problems" presented in a abstract way, but there's no chance of me trying to discuss it.
If this test turns into anything important in the future, drop my account a message. I'd hate to think I wasted 20 minutes for some project a collage kid is going to forget about in a few weeks or something.

My point is that it isn't a balanced test, it's purpose seems to be to measure one particular aspect of the human psyche rather than run the gamut of tests experienced by a taker of a normal IQ test. This is not an IQ test, rather it is a test that measures aptitude in a particular area.

Is this correct FGFA, is this your intention? :)

The point of this experiment will be revealed once this thread dies off and no one is still voting. (I am looking for as much data as possible.)

Now, as for I.Q. tests... Most people here, (and otherwise), don't really seem to understand how they work, and/or what they represent. Although I could try to explain their purpose, I think the Wikipedia entry on the said subject matter is much more detailed. Please visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iq for further information.

135, male. Guessed on the last two. I thought the test had too much duplication; several of the rules for patterns get repeated.

IQ tests only prove how good you are at IQ tests. IQ is a pointless number which only looks good on resumes.
That's curious---I've never seen anyone put an IQ number on a resume, and I have a feeling that it would raise more than a few eyebrows, even in the strange circles I work (academia). You put your achievements and experience on a resume, and an IQ number shows strictly only potential, and there's always a question if even that is accurate.

Not doubting, just curious---have you or anyone here ever seen or put their IQ on a resume?

Male, 21, 101. Amazingly disappointing... It was all based on pattern recognition which I am okay in but I excel in reading and comprehension. :p If it had been math based I would've bombed horribly. IQ tests really aren't an accurate measure of a person's intelligence. They're all biased. What a person has been through in life and what they have learned all affect the outcome. Not what they are capable of learning or doing.
