The correct pronunciation is "Melbn" and "Brisbn".
Expecting people to know that is entirely unreasonable.
Expecting people to pronounce them correctly after hearing Austalians pronounce them correctly numerous times is entirely reasonable. I've encountered Americans who literally refuse to pronounce them correctly even after learning the correct pronounciation.

I'm 5th generation West coast Canadian. From Vancouver specifically. And noting all the references to Canadian weather, I'll just say that B.C. has the mildest weather in Canada. We're somewhat spoiled.
I have 2 sisters that live in Vancouver.

Now if only I had some idea of what that meant.

I am from Ontario, Canada and live in Ontario, Canada.

I live in Ontario Canada about a hour outside Toronto in a place called Oshawa. We get a fairly ranged degree of weather I suppose very hot summers and very cold winters sometimes to cold to even snow.

Canada tends to host a lot of different cultures in it so people have this weird tendency to not really identify themselves as Canadian and more with there heritage here.

Ummm second biggest country in the world. We have a railway that goes across the entire nation. Our provinces are bigger than most countries so naturally not many people who live here ever even see the entire nation or even go to every province. We have a insanely diverse landscape from some of largest mountain ranges to flat as far as you can see.

In Quebec most people speak french so we have 2 national languages French and English which is taught in all school from a young age. We have a lot in common with the US except we tend to be more laid back with issues that are rather large there. We are a very peaceful country most of us are very proud to be so.

I dunno I am sure some others will add to this I suppose.
Hmm. I can't really think of anything to add to this.

Random fact: Canada's constitution was based on the British constitution. It was so similar that a large amount of the constitution is, to this day, unwritten. This is based on the preamble for the Constitution Act of 1867, where it is made clear that the constitution is meant to be "similar in Principle to that of the United Kingdom". This is legally binding. people can be persecuted based on unwritten constitutional principles. I just find this interesting.

That actually is extremely fascinating I knew it was similar but not to this degree that is incredibly interesting.

I'm from Canada, Alberta to be specific.
Are you from the *ahem* City of Champions?
There are at least 2 cities in this province that would probably claim that title, which one are you referring to? Although in either case the answer is still no.
I'm referring to Deadmonton. Lived there for 3 and a half years myself. I can think of several better places to live in Alberta alone.

I did, nobody posted a poll or forum asking this so I took it upon myself to do so.

New Zealand! More specifically Auckland's North Shore. Where the suburbs meet the sea.
Here is the beach that is a short walk down the road from where I live:

It is a wonderful place to live. Crime is minimal. Here is the local cop shop:

As you can see everything is pretty relaxed and happy here.

I didn't see Rand McNally listed. I am not surprised by the stats I'm seeing so far though, but I expected there to be a lot more UK visitors for some reason.
