First season good, the first half of the second season really dragged along a weak plot device and set up a predictably and filled with plot holes mid season finale. I just hope there is much more plot and zombies in the next half.

I don't know about plot, but you're unlikely to see more zombies. Part of the reason Darabont left the show was they were asked to produce twice the episodes with a substantially reduced budget. How do you accomplish this? Lots of standing around in fields, talking. Not so many zombies.

I voted meh. Every character (except the main guy and the old guy) are idiots or assholes. In a show about the characters fighting for survival you should actually want them to survive, but I just want everyone to die for being morons and jerks.

I have only watched the first season though.

Oh dear. The old guy (Dale) and the main guy (Rick) are arguably the two most annoying characters on the show. Lamentably, neither seems destined to die any time soon.

The first 2 episodes from the first season were great, but then it really started to deviate from the comics and I stopped watching. Not because I wanted it to stick to the comics, but because it just got boring and very predictable. I was watching the fourth episode and I found myself predicting how the episode would pan out virtually scene-by-scene.

I decided the kid getting shot at the end of the episode was the end of the series.

the kid meaning carl(ricks son)? are they seriosly there already?! also did lorry die yet? what about whats his name (ricks cop friend whos name escapes me at the moment)? did they get to the govanour yet!?
Yes Carl has been shot.
No, unless they make another big departure from the source material, they're still quite a while away from the Governor's arc and all of the purging that comes with it.
And Shane is still alive.

I liked the first season, there were a lot of scary, tense moments but the second is dragging a bit. They might as well have called it Little House on the Zombie Prairie.

Its fun to shout at the characters about how poor their survival skills are. I mean seriously, they go wandering around unarmed half of the time. If I were trying to survive in a zombie apocalypse, I would go around armed to the teeth 24/7.

I don't really like how most of the female characters are written, all they seem to do is cry and do laundry. And when one of them finally gets to use a gun after weeks of begging permission from the men, she uses it irresponsibly. Coz you can't trust wimmin with guns! They should stick to doing laundry! And yet the little boy (who's what, 8?) immediately gets to learn how to use one after his parents mull it over for about half a minute.

Anyway, it's got zombies in it (sometimes), so I'm in.

It was almost identical. The forest, the whimsical petting of a deer, everything.

I do think they are kind of annoying, but at least they are not pants on head retarded or actively malicious.

But yeah, I don't really care if they live or die either.

Wait! The asian kid! He is awesome. Only guy I care about in the whole show. I really don't know why, he is just as stupid as the rest but I give him a free pass for some reason.

Glenn is fairly awesome, yes. I'll give you that. I also like Shane, not because he's a huge asshole (which he clearly is) but because he's one of the few characters having compelling emotional reactions to his circumstances. Rick "I Will Always Do The Right Thing Because I Am A Huge Mary Sue" and Dale "I Am A Fussy Meddler Who Looks Perpetually Poleaxed By Every Development" do not share this quality.

I like it, but it needs some kind of editing process. Near the end of the first season, they kept pulling bullshit twists (the whole CDC thing, for example) and when they saw people didn't like it they went completely the opposite direction and slowed things down to a crawl. The Hershel situation wasn't dragged out nearly this much in the comic.

A lot of the drama of the comic comes from setting them up with a nice place, letting them get used to it, and waiting for it to get just slightlyboring before BOOM! Half the characters die and the rest have to get the fuck out.

Of course she uses a gun irresponsibly, she doesn't have much experience with them. The little kid's dad is a cop, I'm sure he at least gave him the occasional lecture before all this started.

I voted meh because I was expecting more zombies. Most of it is drama. The zombies and survival stuff are just things to help drive the plot.
That's actually what I like about it - it's got zombies but it's still focused on the people, and I think that's pretty cool.

OT: I never read the graphic novel. I gotta be honest, I just started watching it because 1) it has zombies and 2) Norman Reedus is in it, and he's my future husband. I dig the show, though.

I tried to watch the first couple of episodes... It was okay... I guess. Not nearly as good as the comic, which I feel the characters are a lot better, and the new additions feel really bad.

Like in the first season, I forgot which episode it was, but there was this part where, the women were complaining about how the guy was acting like he was above them. It was this wierd sexism sub-plot that felt really out of place and just bad...

I feel like it would have been better if they kept completely the source material.
