Speakers I prefer, they usually give a better atmosphere for the music I listen to, but since I don't really have any that I use at home, or when working on my music, I use over-ear headphones.

Well depending on what I'm doing:
walking around campus or working out => in-ear (the good kind, you get what u pay for ppl)

editing(music, video, etc) => over ear (plus I like how u can just have them wrapped around ur neck like a techno scarf)

In my room => raping my ears with a full surround sound system with a 100 watt subwoofer (WHOO!)

I use in-ear buds when on my iPod. On my computer I alternate between my speaker system and a nice pair of over-the-ear earphones.
exactly this.

the in ears feel 1000000x better than the shitty ones that ipod gives out/generic ones, plus i only have to have the volume at roughly 1/4th the total with the sound it cancels out from the outside to hear the song and nothing else.

otherwise for gaming and whatnot i use speakers/over ear headphones all the way.

I actually like the earphones that are included with the iPod. I just like the in-ear buds because there isn't as much noise leakage and they stay in better.

In ear buds most of the time. Allows me to get lost in the music. But you gotta search for some good ones to get that beefy bass. But i tend to use my computer speakers if at the computer, they're pretty good and conveniently located.

If it is party/riot music though, nothing matches playing it on the speakers in the DJ studio i frequent. Put on something fat in there and i'll be orgasming.

i used to not mind the ipod ones at all, but after getting my first pair of in ear bud's, i fell in love and can't go back.

and yeah, the sound that leaks in/out is next to none, and the ones i have fit amazingly into my ears (hell after getting my first pair, i bought 3 extra pairs of them as they were on sale, got em for 15 bucks a piece)
