1 as in I-pissed-my-pants-playing-left-4-dead and 10 is my-secret-identity-is-Joker.

I'm basically option 8, it's not so much as it is the jumpers than it is the atmosphere. When the atmosphere is truly gloomy and creepy, shoot anything that moves. I consider my greatest gaming feat to be completing Alan Wake.

Only two games have ever freaked me out, the first being System Shock 2 and the other being Metro 2033. I can't really play either of those games for more than an hour or so before I start getting freaked out at everything. Other than those two, I only get mildly anxious playing them in the dark, but they don't affect me much after I stop playing them.

And lets not talk about the time I was playing SS2 and my cat rubbed against my leg right as I turned around and some hybrids were standing RIGHT behind me to eat my face, and I proceeded to shriek and flip out of my chair onto the ground.

I went 10. I love horror games and the adrenaline rush from getting scared.

Unfortunately, it seems to happen less and less often nowadays.

I'm a 10...................hahahaha.

Yeah, I can play pretty much any horror game anytime without losing it.

I'm pretty bad with anything scary, so I always need to be around other people when I'm playing a horror game. And then afterwards I'm paranoid for a long time.

I once played Fatal Frame for about fifteen minutes before turning it off. To prevent the need to go to the restroom, I refrained from drinking water the entire day.

I am an intense coward. After the Dunwich building (which I happened upon wondering the wastes) I put that goddamn game away for more than a month.

And I was about to roam that area too, looks like I'll stay away for a short while.

Fallout always scares you anyway. With a world that depressing, prepare to see a new horror at every corner.

I voted 10. However, I can't enjoy horror games without being scared, so I deliberately make myself more of a coward when I play so I can enjoy them more. When I play Left 4 Dead 1, I drop down to a 6 or 7 when I need to be scared for the experience. When I'm playing competitively, I just stay at 10 so my aim isn't affected by any jittering.

When I'm playing something not particularly scary like the Half-Life 2 episodes, I need to drop down to a 2 so I can be properly scared by the experience.

it really depends on the kind of horror I can deal with unatmospheric horror levels (Midget Napolean is a huge Big Lipped Aligator that just doesnt go away) but stuff like the dunwhich building in Fallout 3 and the Thief games (the tense feeling you get as you creep along just inches away from a Guard not knowing what exactly is ahead is utterly terrifying)

I don't really play a lot of horror games but I don't really get scared too often, I just get jumpy.

I can play them but I don't really enjoy them. I'm to tense waiting to see what will jump at me next-DID THAT CHAIR JUST MOVE?! AAAAH SHOOT IT DEAD!!

That's actually usually my reaction when games play the old "moving furniture and random objects around" trick.

I like to think of myself as a nine on the scale, jump-scares always surprise you the first time.

Come on, FEAR isn't scary at all. I'm not scared by much of course, so I am a 10 on this scale, but FEAR is by far on the lowest ring of horror. Lights flicker and blood appears on walls and a girl appears in corners. Big fucking deal. Penumbra scares the shit out of me, but that's honestly the only time I'm scared.

The only game that I've ever been too stressed to play continuously was Doom 3. Sorry, even when I know for a fact what's coming next, I'm still a sucker for jump scares. It was made worse by the fact that I was playing it on a less-than-stellar PC, so the framerate was low and made the action jumpy and hard to control, which made it twice as scary.
