Rolling through red wood forest in stalker at 4 am in the morning.. And my duty squad slowly got killed 1 by 1 on the tunnel.. I ran so fast out of that zone, it's not even funny.

Potentially 10, because things that aren't real almost never scare me, but in practice it's usually around 9.5.

i never get scared by games, movies, suspiscious dark alleys, or people on the el train. you know what scares me to the point of gray hair and heart palpitations, though? when my toast pops out of the toaster. i freak out completely every time it happens, and it's happened at least once a day for the last fifteen years.

9, I'd say ten but I don't play S.T.A.L.K.E.R because of it's horrible gunplay.

Also, not to sound negative or anything but really? Your greatest accomplishment gaming wise was beating Alan Wake?
To me it was. Never did anything big. Rarely played multiplayer due to the need of subscription for Xbox Live. Other than that I completed DMC3 on Dante Must Die. But it took a number of tries so it doesn't really feel as great as it sounds.

Changed F.E.A.R to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. What's with all the .?

I put 10 because I did that with Metro 2033, which was made by the same guys, and felt a lot like STALKER, so it counts I guess.

LOL, I'm the only 5.
I generally suck at horror, but I'm kinda OK if there are others around and we're all laughing and joking about it.
But by myself, I couldn't even finish the first level of F.E.A.R. That's how bad I am.

I rated myself a nine, but the thing is...I don't get afraid of horror games while I'm actually playing them. The problem is I get really...really paranoid afterwards, when I'm trying to go to sleep or something like that.

I have a hyper-active imagination, and trust me...every little sound is something sneaking up to eat my head or something. Even if I can logically disprove it as nothing more than my fan blowing on a piece of paper, it still scares the hell out of me.

Only one time have I actually been frightened (scared, not startled) by a game. That would be in F.E.A.R. 2, when you're going through the school's bottom floor. Suddenly, the lights go out, and everything is evil-mode. Blood spattering the walls, ghosts flying out of the walls at you, lights flickering on and off, and this horrible, batshit crazy music screeching in your ears. Only way out is through a door slamming and opening again and again, with the only source of stable light on the other side. It's a mad, pants-wetting dash to the end, and it scared me shitless. Thankfully, I didn't actually wet my pants, just left me trembling and breathless for a few seconds. Then, when you're in a calm, clean, normal hallway...the screen goes red, and Alma appears out of nowhere and slams you against a wall. Fun stuff.

10, sort of. I'm not scared by most things, like stuff jumping out at me or gore. Takes more subtlety.

I have, however, played Penumbra for several hours (Overture AND Black Plague) at 3~5 in the morning, then went to bed, had the lights off and slept perfectly fine. But that doesn't mean I didn't get quite scared repeatedly while playing the game.

Only stuff that's scared me game-wise is Penumbra, Eversion and System Shock 2, really. I'm playing a very little bit of STALKER, and assume I haven't reached the scary bits yet.

Most games don't scare me too much, which is really strange, as I am an absolute scaredy cat.
I never used to be, but I get all paranoid after scary movies these days. Condemned is pretty damn scary, but I did not even realise Stalker was meant to be scary.
They might make me jump at some places, but no real effect like some movies give me, strange now I think about it.

I went with a ten! Just because horror doesn't bug me that much. Good scary games are good fun and all(if done well), but the feeling doesn't last once the console is off. Ah hell my car is a hearse after all so who could find my stance on horror surprising.

Normally, around an eight. Though I don't often play games that are designed to be scary. Though I have completed Resident Evil 1-3 and Silent Hill 1 & 2 on my own. If poison headcrabs or similarly spideresque monsters are included though, I immediately drop to about a five or six. Curse my arachnophobia.

There's always some sort of disconnect between me and whatever I am playing, which prevents me from being all that immersed, so horror really doesn't seem to affect me at all. So 10, I guess.

I guess I'm an 8. I don't think there is a game out there I would actually stop playing because it scared me.

I went with 10 as well.

I love horror games, my favorite genre of games. It's hard for a horror game to scare me.
Very few have. They can make me jump from time to time, but not really scare me. The most current game to actually make me freak out a bit was Metro 2033. But I also beat it in one play-through, and I was high on vicaden seeing as I got surgery that day.

Yes I'm a coward, and I'm not afraid to admit it...

I'm fine playing scary/creepy games in the day but at night I don't even want to try it. Something about night changes me. I can't play certain games at night or watch scary movies. It sucks cause I like both of those.
