Have you watched every anime in existence? If not, then how can you say you hate everything anime except for Miyazaki films?

I'm usually not a fan, but I usually get a demo of the new ones, just to make sure one doesn't come along that I like.

No, but once you see one awkward teenage gir- I'm sorry boy- have an initially hostile romance if a hot chick (usually wearing almost no cloths at all) you have seen them all.

I rest my case.

Im not quite so fargone thta I hate any genre like thye killed my mother, JRPGs are jsut like WRPGs in my opinion same flaws, both rely far to heavy on their predescessors for inspiration and style, both folow strick gameplay niches. Barring that its the same with any game genre theres always your gems and your crap.

You cannot honestly think every anime is like that.

No, but I really shouldn't have to stick my hand into every power outlet in the world before I am aloud to come to the conclusion that
Hand+fork+power outlet=PAIN

And no, not all anime is like that, I loved Spirited Away and Princess Moninoke, I even have Howl's Moving Castle and Nausica of the Valley of the Wind on DvD.

Well, most animes are pretty obviously bad and you don't have to watch them to figure out. Go to /a/ or some anime board and ask for some. FLCL is one I would recommend. There are a ton of cool action animes out there.

Your outlet analogy is a flawed one because all power outlets are identical. However, animes consist of ones like the ones you mentioned and a huge variety of others. You just have to look in the right places.

I love the Final Fantasy games, well, except 8... never really could get into it... Only other JRPG I have is Star Ocean, and having trouble getting into that too... I'm more of an FPSRPG fan...

I like them every now and again. I don't think that any exactly match my taste but many of them have enough redeeming features. Generally I'm more positive about the future of the Japanese RPG as they are more diverse than American RPGs currently.

hate JRPGs don't mind anime and japanese culture i really like those but JRPG's should go to hell (with th exception of most pokemon games those were really good especially gold and silver)

its manely the turn based fighting that makes them suck so bad

I've played good and bad examples of both and I've had an equally good time with the better games of both.

In my opinion, neither is better or worse than the other. It depends on the game.

JRPGs (specifically FFIX and FFX) changed my view of video games. I got FFIX when I was 10 and by that time had been a gamer for about 3 years, playing mostly platformers and adventure games. I got FFIX and suddenly realised how much more awesome an incredible story in a game provides for the player. From then on I had more reasons to play video games; not just for fun gameplay but also for an epic story

I like em. Fire Emblem and Final Fantasy mostly. I don't play them as much as I used to though...

I enjoy them. I recently picked up Persona 3 and 4, and love TWEWY and Devil Survivor.

I enjoy JRPGs so long as they actually try and don't just milk every damn anime cliche to the point of tears. I do enjoy some of the Final Fantasy games (though a few them are on my most hared RPGs list), the Persona series I absolutely love due to what it does with the cliches and how well it meshed RPGs and dating sims, and there are a few one-off games like The World Ends With You and Legend of the Dragoon that are also enjoyable. Still Dragon Quest is one of my most hated series of all time due to its incredibly frustrating insistence to go extremely old school. Having limited areas where you can save and not being able to save before a boss fight combined with losing half your gold upon defeat and having to grind more than World of Warcraft just to get any gold in the first place is one big fat example right there. If the RPG features kids who look 'chibi' then that's another black mark against it IMO and one of the reasons I couldn't stand Eternal Sonata in spite of an interesting battle system. So yeah, some are good, some are bad. I enjoy the occasional anime too so I am a bit more accepting, but I've never been to a convention or dressed up.

What I was trying to get at with the power outlet analogy was that I haven't seen ALL ANIME IN EXISTENCE, but I have seen enough that I can say to myself "gee, I really didn't enjoy this that much" and come to the personal conclusion that anime does not float my boat.

I have seen FLCL, it was better than most and the south park reference was nice, but it still suffers from the same things that turn me off to most anime. Maybe these are things that anime fans recognize and accept. Maybe people love anime for the same reasons I hate it.

To me a good JRPG beats most WRPG's by a wide margin. Games such as WoW just aren't RPGs by my stand point, and should be classed as "MMO" and nothing more than that, really.
Of course there are differing opinions and I respect these.

Perhaps one of the reasons I prefer the JRPG is that they do break away from the pattern of mundane off-the-line western titles (or sequels, to be more current) and give a fresh break, of course if they aren't good, this break could well be a limb. Games such as The World Ends With You and the Final Fantasy-esque franchises are far more directed towards telling an interesting story than the typical stat grinds, despite a few misfired attempts...

Likely it is because I am a lover of stories, and a well told tale will stay in my mind a hell of a lot longer than becoming a level 80 Paladin or whatever it is that would eat a few years of my life. Though I must say, games like the Elder Scrolls series really do make me stop and appreciate what the different types of RPG can do. Next stop, Skyrim.
