Poll: What kind of character do you choose?

Definetally yhe ranger, i've always been a range fan.

Comedy relief. Maybe its just the type of person I am, and the laid-back way I play games, but if someone can get humor into it, then it's all win for me.

But now I try and find an example, I can't basically, any character with good humor, whether sarcastic or just jolly, is good in my books.

The Powerhouse/Tank, probably because they often remind me of me. That's my real life's fighting style, after all.

I play the Ranger in fighting games, the slower-but-better-handling in racing games (<3 Dry Bones in MKDS), and the Solid Snake in action RPGs (why Solid Snake? Archetypal stealth character.)

My favorites are usually the everyman characters. I like Ryu and Ken in Street Fighter and Cinder is my main guy in Killer Instinct.

I usually go with something of a mish-mash of different characters, just the ones I can figure out how to use well.

Soul Calibur - Sophitia, Raphael
SSBB - Sonic, Zelda (but not Sheik), Link, Yoshi (Zelda and Yoshi are a sort of Enigma in that they are not known as "good", but they are surprisingly deadly in my hands... BWAHAHA!!!)
BlazBlue - Ragna, Rachel, Jin

Hmm...somehow I knew that the Speed Demon would be the top choice so far. It usually is in these types of things because people like to rushdown so much. I'm kind of surprised that the Enigma is so low though =S

Enigma or Ranger for me because I like to keep my opponents guessing. I do throw in some powerhouses on occassion like Nightmare or Astaroth but I'm a counterpuncher rather than a pressure fighter so I like either being able to catch a player offguard and doing massive damage unexpectedly.

I have a weakness for the Speed Demon, out of these. Being able to combo-and-dash is something I'll always prefer.
For instance, Shen Long from Bloody Roar 2, to go abit more obscure, is one of my alltime-favourites in a fighting-game.

Not my only favourite mind. Chip Zanuff and I have a long and succesful relationship in late-night tournaments with my friends. Even if it's been a long while since I picked either Guilty Gear-game up(X2 being the favourite).

Ranger: My favourite character in fighting games being Samus Aran, who pretty much defines ranger.
I'm also partial to the speed demons, but I'm actually more proficient with a heavy-hitter than a fast mover, it's just where my preferences rather than skill lies.

I usually go with the speedy characters that require you to get up close and personal. I'm usually pretty aggresive in fighting games so having a character than can attack quickly and get into your face usually trumps over one with range or power. I can play other types as well, but my favored type is usually the fast buggers. Which is the opposite of how my one friend plays. He usually goes for range and power. Which makes for very interesting games.

Well, I always choose Link in SSB, but he's sort of a cross between Everyman and Speed Demon (I can get his attacks to go VERY fast)

In terms of my own personal abilities, I am an every man. My selection of fighters throughout the years is quite diverse and have been from many of those archetypes. I play enough characters until I find the ones that feel right to me, so a ,lot of trial and error until I find mr/mrs right.

I may be one type in one game, and another type in another. It really depends on character traits, usability, and yea...sometimes simply because they seem cool.

So yea, I've played many many different archetypes. The game and the numerous facets of the gameplay and characters play a pivotal role in who I use. But as a player myself, I would deem myself an everyman because of this.
