I'm the kind of American that was actually born outside of the US in Sweden and eventually naturalized- but because I'm white I'll always be a "normal red-blooded American" or someone that was born here- never classified as an immigrant or foreigner.

I've only officially been an American for 4 years.

I have dual citizenship, so I don't know what poll option to choose.

Norwegian and American, in any case (though the U.S. government would consider me to be American).

Born in America, but am of Lithuanian descent and blood. I don't consider myself a "mutt" as so many other americans of mixed heritage do, so I don't actually consider myself to be of the same type of "american" as most other americans.

That's right, the baltic blood showing through - I'm 'effin uber proud of my heritage, enough so to differentiate myself from my fellow countrymen. :p

Another Brit. The polish option made me giggle a little. I know it's unintended, but it's like the world consists of Americans and Non-Americans...oh and the Polish...don't forget the Polish

I'm Canadian. I'm sure Americans do have more people on this site in general, but I'd doubt they're at all any kind of majority.

I'm British although I think this site is American or non Britian seeing how the news doesn't update in the morning but I fine with that.

I find it odd that non-Americans have been posting that they resent being called "foreign".

Why? Are there negative connotations with this?

I think most "white" countries have that mentality. That guy from Iraq who has lived here for 40 years? He's a foreigner. That white guy that was born in Australia but lived here for 4 years now? He's one of us.
