I'm a hoarder. I've only sold five games in the last few years and I currently have about 40 PS2 games.

for the general idea of it, wasteland trader, im a hybrid of that and genre shut in, as i know what i like, so i buy those, and about 40% of those i actually keep, so the other 60% go back to trade ins in which i then proceed to play those games and recycle...

like with reach, got it for free launch day from my trade in's

Window shopper. I have to have a pretty good feeling about a game to buy it. I've had my xbox since forever and only have a handful of games.

I would have to say im a mix between game connoisseur and wasteland trader. I like to make sure im getting a good game but i also like to find the games people don't play but usually play the popular game of today till the next day.

I'm a bit of a connoisseur. I've almost never bought a bad game, and I tide my time between great titles with a gamut of cheap indie, budget, and retro games. If there's nothing out for a few months, I'll go find what was awesome years ago and play that instead. I usually have a few games on the back burner for those drought periods too.

Connoisseur? Genre Shut-In? I dunno. I don't own many retro games and I've bought plenty of shit games, and despite always sticking with Mainly Racing games and Shooters, I have done a lot of Genre switching.

I've been doing a fuckload of Window Shopping because of my lack of a job. Steam is horrifying for "Speedster" spenders, anybody who fell victim to the July madness sale, you know what I mean. And being a PC gamer means that I cannot sell or trade-in any of my games so being a hoarder kind of comes with that.

So.. I dunno!

Hoarder/Connoisseur.

I tend to keep the games I buy, and I generally follow games that interest me up until release.

Game Connoissuer, as I've already made a mistake by playing Darkest of Days, and am making sure nothing like that ever happens again.

Combination of Connoisseur and Hoarder.

I have 10 consoles/handhelds and dozens of games for each from multiple genres (although I do have a few favorites) that vary from a week old to decades old. Unfortunately, my college schedule is making it harder and harder to work my way through my backlog so many games are being left on the shelf for now.

Too many good games, so little time...

I'm more of a hybrid. I know which genres I typically enjoy and I'll wait to get certain games until I hear feedback usually through a plethora of reviews and opinions of friends. Then I'll wait for the prices to drop down and usually buy it new (at the reduced price) along with about 2-3 used games that were on the cusp of my interest. I have only sold back one game, so I have an average sized hoarded library.

I'll never pay more than £30 ($50) for a game, and even that is very rare. It's got to be something I've been waiting for more than anything else for years, like S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Deus Ex 3, Syberia 3 or Dreamfall Chapters.

Anything else, I'll wait for it to drop below £15 ($25).

I have over 100 games on Steam, and they're mostly old or indie titles that I got for £7 ($10) or less, or more recent games that I got in the sales at 75% off or something awesome like that.

Note than over here, the prices include sales tax, too.

I'll create my own category if you don't mind homie! (You gave me permission!) I'm a "Once Burned, Twice Shy Demo-King". I was a limited budget man spending like an infinite budget wonder for years; I have been disappointed by games with amazing trailers and crappy game play too many times to count. I have a stable income now and enough spare time to enjoy games for a few hours a week, and if something I reeeeally like comes out like Fallout 3 or Demons' Souls I will invest unhealthy amounts of time in them. However, these days I watch Yahtzee and a few other critics closely and read player feedback A LOT before I buy a game. I also play every demo, for the most part, that comes out on PSN. I find that every week I have a new couple of hours of games to try out and that kind of scratches my itch for games for the most part. So yeah. "OBTS Demo-King".

I'm probably a mixture of Genre Shut-in, Hoarder (Since I haven't traded in any of my games since I regretted trading in Mass Effect 1), and a bit of Connoisseur.

Genre Shut-in because the last racing game I played was Burnout 3 on PS2, and the last sports game I played was... Madden 2001, when it was new even, so it's been a while. Also I'm generally shit at puzzles so adventure games and puzzle games are things I tend to avoid. Not a big fan of RTS's either. Wow, until I started typing this I didn't realize just how many genre's I tend to shun.

Connoisseur mostly just because I always try to be cautious about a new game release and wait a week or two to see how well received the game is before buying/renting it. Plus I've never once pre-ordered a game assuming that it will no doubt be awesome.

Hoarder because I often get the urge to go back and replay an old favorite, and I can't do that if I traded it to gamestop for $10 around the time I finished the main story. Plus until I was able to recently buy some shelves the only place I had to leave my game boxes was on the floor in an unoccupied corner.

Hoarder of things. I NEVER trade a game in. But the great thing is that a local pawn shop sells ps2 games for $2.50 Canadian no matter the game. I picked up all 3 Jak games, beyond good and evil, Gta Vice city and San Andreas, Killer seven, and mercenaries for $20 :D

A combination of Window Shopper, Game Connoisseur and Hoarder of things.

Which translates into this:

I rarely buy games at full price.

I can barely pick any games out of my collection that I could really consider bad.

I'm usually fairly certain I'll like a game before I buy it.

I never ever trade/sell/get rid of my games. I paid good money for these things, dammit.
