I picked a mix, I'd like a cute sweet gamer that's romantic, there are a lot of other things I'd through in here, since I'm a bit of and oddity myself, take all of that and make him a furry too and living close by and bam I'll pay you a large sum of cash.

I really am gay and even if I look straight, *shrugs*

Probably Cute and Sweet, although I prefer women.
I would definatly be gay for Stephen Fry or David Tennant though.

A mixture between cute/sweet and gamer if I could only choose from those options. But when I say gamer, I mean they get so obsessed with a game that they forget about me.

However, I do like guys that can make me laugh.

Edit, my brother was reading over my shoulder as I posted this, he informed me that he would happily turn gay for Kirk Hammett.

Cute and romantic, without a doubt, but you forgot to mention inteligent, no need to be hardcore gamer or nerdy, but if he was would be a bonus. Said!

All right, people. We keep seeing threads aimed at the straight male population of the Escapist, but now it's time to speak up if you're not among that percentage.

So. What kind of guy would you go for?

Personally, my vote is for 'something else'. I got lucky enough to find a guy who games (PC, console, and tabletop), but is also a tech nerd, romantic and sweet, and cute to boot.
Kinda sucks to lump people into a single category, by that standard I'd say they'll all go for the mixture option.

I would go for a guy who cares and is fairly intellectual, opinionated, artistic and has a low self esteem. (Note that by intellectual I don't mean academically)

Mind you I'm a straight guy, so I can't really say for sure what I'd like.

You are not a beautiful and unique snowflake. You are the same decaying organic matter as everyone else, and we are all part of the same compost pile. - Tyler Durden

Sorry couldn't resist, snowflakes make me think Fight Club.

OT: Everyone's said it but David Tennant. I'm a straight guy but he's just so...dreamy.
I shall not hold it against you. I was reminded of the very same line as I was writing it.
And yes, I think most of us geeks would go gay for him.

Women are grouped together by a lot of things yes, but their preference towards jerks is not one of them. That's all I'm saying.

The 'bad boy' thing is one I've never understood.
I never went out with one. My friends didn't either as far as I'm concerned. When we talk about boys, we don't include asshole into desired traits. Men are the only ones who seem to constantly slap that one on for women.

Anyway, I seem unnecessarily aggressive right now, I didn't really count on turning this into a debate or whatever.

This is merely a friendly debate. There is nothing aggressive about it. Especially, since you've managed to stay civil even when a core belief was questioned.

Of course you don't talk about how much of a jerk a guy is. You're not going to say: "He cheats on me left and right, beats me and makes me pay the bills, but I love him so."

I don't know where the stereotype came from, but I can tell you who has not only made a shit ton of money from it, but also does a good job of keeping it alive. Hollywood [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/AllGirlsWantBadBoys].
And did you ever stop to think that maybe you're in the minority?

[small]The links I've been posting are safe, btw. They lead to the tropes site.[/small]
Yeah, but the guy who cheats and who beats his girlfriend probably wasn't like that in the beginning. Maybe he was romantic or nice and that's what attracted the girl at first. Not his ability to hit her in the face or to, in fact, be a complete jerk.

I think the 'Hollywood' kind of bad boy is very difference from the 'real-life' ones. Yes, many girls can be attracted to that, but most of the time, it's because of the mystery behind him or his confidence. I don't see bad boys and assholes as the same thing, I think you can have one without the other.

And I sincerely do not think I am in the minority because I don't know any girl who would want to be in that kind of relationship and if she is in one, she probably didn't want to be.

Well, probably someone like, say... my boyfriend. Duh.

Play some games, get laid, cook. It's all good.

He's awesome.

Fuck me, the girls and gay guys round here have bad taste. 'The cute, sweet one: romance and sugar abound'?! Seriously? Romance and sugar?

Oh dear, dear me.

Also, I feel I should direct some people in here to this [http://www.heartless-bitches.com/rants/niceguys/niceguys.shtml]
Thank you, I think enough people don't get this to deem it necessary to post.

Now anyway onto my opinion [disclaimer: IMZ NOT GAYZ bla bla] anyway I'd go for a thin build, nothing insanely muscular. He'd have to have some sort of good fashion, preferably punkish looking.

if my sexual orientation swung to the other direction, I would prefer a guy close to my own stature. Skinny-ish, gamer isn't afraid to speak his mind or emotions etc.

.....Oh hell, go the Emo guy, probably the closest stereotype to my match.

My type isn't really represented here. I like the clever, funny, older type. Stephen Fry, Derren Brown, Hugh Laurie. Nerd doesn't really cover it. Intellectual I guess you'd call it. Sugar daddy even.

Oh, and John Barrowman is way too camp to be sexy for me. I'm effeminate enough for both of us.

I'm not a girl but I'm bi with a female bias, and as such, I tend to go for the more average to feminine, slender guys whenever I get to paying attention.. so is it ok if I play too? XD

I like the sweet, cute, geeky-nerdy guy, or like I mentioned before, the "pretty" feminine type, but not the flamers, which annoy the piss out of me. I can't stand stars or the "jocks" who I'd end up wanting to sock in the face.
So THIS is Raiden's demographic! I don't know, did you play MGS2? I know some people liked it.

I personally found Raiden as annoying beyond all hell, but he seemed to fit with what Kojima thought some people wanted. Maybe the "sensitivity" got lost in translation and became "pretentious whiner", or at least that's the way I saw it.

And if I'm gay for ANYONE it's Solid Snake. Yeah, there is a lot of freaky Otacon/Snake slash fiction out there.

Why even have a "I don't like boys" option? becasue I don't like boys. But if I did (hypothetically) I'd go for Colin Farrell... idk why... but I would probably think he was hot. plus I like darkness and the irish accent. ; )
But only (maybe) if Colin Farrell had a sex, voice and body-change to look like this:
