talk about narrow focus, you left out trail bikes, dual sports, tourers, retro's/classic's, sports tourers, and naked bikes

anyhoo, my personal favourite is the triumph bonneville, a classic design that's practical for many things but without the bling and pretentiousness of a harley

running 2nd is the BMW R1200R, which i feel is a good contemporary blend of both form and function

What? It's cheap on gas, I don't have to drive around for half an hour looking for parking before I finally give up and use a garage, and you get friendly conversations on the road with your fellow moped drivers.

Harleys and such are kinda cool, but they scream midlife crisis or wanker. I guess spots bikes have a similar image but they're also pretty cool because MotoGP is actually interesting motorsport.

I think that that motorcross bikes are probably my favourite, but only because it's what I would ride if I ever rode a motorbike (I ride DH mountain bikes myself). That, and this shit is awesome.

Personally I've had 3 Honda cruisers of different types, and my favorite by far was an 1100 Shadow. I don't have one now, but if/when I decide to get another it will probably be a Shadow Classic, or something similar... simple, clean lines, good power, and way more reliable than a Harley. I want to ride it, not fix it ;)

Sports Bikes.

Although I really hate the phrase 'crotch rocket', it makes them sound like little playthings when, in reality, they're the most brutal two wheelers you can ride.

My bike will do 0-60 in under 3 seconds, has a 65mph 1st gear, pushes out 130bhp at the rear wheel, tops out at 170mph and weighs 186kg........it's not a soppy plaything like Harleys are!

Crotch rocket sounds like you're talking about a race-tuned 125 or something.
