The pounding, ultraviolent, ritualistic nature of black metal speaks to me on a very deep and personal level. I find the abrasive guitars, shrieked vocals and pummelling, militaristic drumming to be soothing in a very odd sort of way. I'm a huge fan of anything involving J. Read and Pete Helmkamp. Personal favourites include (not all black metal) but in no means limited to:

Blasphemy (see avatar)
Teitanblood
Revenge
Conqueror
Black Witchery
Hellhammer
Behexen
Shub Niggurath
Vasaeleth
Axis of Advance
Deiphago
Portal
Impetuous Ritual
Sacramentory Abolishment
Kerasphorous (see username)
Angelcorpse
Blood Revolt

So yeah, metal fan I guess.

I listen to one of the most hated genres in the world, Jazz, and Blues as well.
Also, I like Classical music, mostly chamber/piano works, I can't really get into big symphonies and opera.
So thats the "other" option in your poll, about 300 years of music, I'm a bit dissapointed there isn't even a "Jazz" option in it >.<

I love symphonies. My favourite of all time would have to be Beethoven's 7th, 2nd movement 'Allegretto'. Fucking awesome. Loved it even more after studying it at school, if you can believe that. And opera. But that's probably something to do with the warm fuzzy feeling i get where my cold dead heart usually resides when playing them in orchestra at school. I miss that. *toddles off to find a new orchestra to play with*

This is pretty tough, because I like a little of everything.

As a general rule though, I'd say I like rock and metal more than most things, although I like a pretty diverse cross section from those genres too. Some examples of bands I like are:

Metallica
Megadeth
Guns n' Roses
Black Sabbath
Deep Purple
Motley Crue
Poison
Machine Head
Iron Maiden

and so on, so forth.

For singing though, I particularly like Kate Covington, because it really exercises my voice. She's about as far removed from the above bands as my arse is from the dark side of Europa... to coin a Yahtzee-ism.

I'll listen to anything that can be classified as music.. Which lets out the inbred hillbilly noise, you might know it better by what the unwashes masses call Country "Music"

But lately, it's been reflections on club music from the 90's...

Black Box, Snap, C&C Music Factory etc...

Oh tons of different stuff. Used to be really into Metal but I got so utterly sick of the puritanical elitist behavior of the average narrowminded (though they all call themselves sooo openminded and tolerant) metalhead douche, that I hardly listen to it anymore. The occasional Death, Bloodbath or Obituary cd, but that's pretty much it.

I really like Trance and it's many forms, more specifically the work of Armin van Buuren, Sean Tyas and W&W, also the more electro-orientated branch with guys like Deadmau5.

I'm also a big Drum and Bass fan, leaning towards the darker, rougher styles with artists like Calyx, Audio, Spor, and the Neurofunk side like Noisia and Phace.

Whenever I just want to chill out and don't feel like Trance, I like anything from Poets of the Fall, Moby, Phoenix Effect, Oasis and the Red Hot Chili Peppers to PG.Lost, Easily Embarrassed and Rob Dougan.

There's some underground Dutch Hip Hop I like, though I can't stand the whole brag 'n boast "my cock is bigger than yours" crap. But artists like Fresku, Fotosynthese, Spinal/Nul7Negen, Skillz1 and Steen I can definitely enjoy.

From time to time I have an Industrial Hardcore day, bouncing on anything from the Enzyme Records label to Meccano Twins, Nosferatu and Promo. Though I must say I enjoy this music a lot more when I'm at a big rave, it just kinda misses the power and atmosphere when I play it in my living room.
