Post-Rock, not sure if I should count it as "Rock" or "Other" though.

Some examples would be:

Mar
Mogwai
And So I Watch You From Afar
Múm
Sigur Ros
Long Distance Calling
Caspian
Followed By Ghosts
Explosions In The Sky
This Will Destroy You

Some examples:

EDIT: Changed my And So I Watch You From Afar song since I was beaten to that song by Ch@z

Fucking everything!

No, really, there isn't a single genre on this planet that doesn't have at least one song I love.

Usually I have spurts where I only listen to one or a couple of certain songs, lately those songs are;

I can't decide by Scissor Sisters
World is Mine sung by Hatsune Miku(wish it was by another Vocaloid though, preferably Luka.)
Don't Stop Believeing by Journey
Fuzzy Blue Light by Owl City

There's loads more, can't think of any right now though.

I like a variety of different music. Right now I am quite literally in love with Kanye West's new album. For such an disingenuous asshole, the guy is a genius artistically.

Some of my other favorites are Jay Z, Bon Jovi, Three Days Grace, and Andre 3000.

But like I said, I like all types of music. As long as it's good, it's cool with me.

The lack of orchestral music as an option saddens me greatly.

Admittedly, I don't listen to much classical music - not a matter of preference as much as sheer ignorance. I don't really know where to start and can't seem to find more than one or two tunes from each composer.

A good source of orchestral stuff is, of course, video game music. Final Fantasy, Shadow of the Colossus and so forth are quite good. Ikaruga, too. Been listening to Touhou and remixes thereof recently, though. Here's an example that just about everyone likes.

I listen to a little of everything, really. And now I shall list genres and artists (or albums) to demonstrate:

Rock/Alternative: New Found Glory, Coldplay

Pop: Lady Gaga, Weird Al, Train, Michael Jackson, Simon and Milo

Country: Taylor Swift, Shania Twain, Montgomery Gentry, Garth Brooks

Classic Rock: Beatles, Billy Joel, Paul Williams, Rod Stewart

Metal: Nightwish, Kamelot, Epica, Dragonforce

Game and Film soundtracks: Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts soundtracks, the works of Noriyuki Iwadare; Ratatouille, Up, Fantasia, Fantasia 2000, Pride and Prejudice, and Howl's Moving Castle soundtracks.

Musical Soundtracks: Disney Musicals (Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid, etc.), The Fiddler on the Roof, Cabaret, the complete Riverdance collection

Celtic/Folk music: Loreena McKennitt, David Arkenstone, Celtic Women, Rob Crabtree, Doug Cameron

Celtic Rock: Enter the Haggis

Hindi: A.R. Rahman

Classical: E.S. Posthumus, Ludovico Einaudi (solo pianist), Richard Joo (performing works composed by Billy Joel, an album called "Billy Joel: Op. 1-10 Fantasies & Delusions - Music for Solo Piano")

World Music: Twelve Girls Band, Bond

Christian/Holiday music: Rachel Lampa, Tait, Natalie Grant, Trans-Siberian Orchestra

Remixes and Tributes: Vitamin String Quartet, OC Remixes, Everlife, MoAbi

Electronic/Electronica: Eiffel 65, CASCADA, Daft Punk, Froggy Mix

New Age: Blue Stone, Achillea, Delerium, Adiemus/Karl Jenkins

Hip-Hop: Black Eyed Peas

J-Rock: Utada Hikaru, Vocaloids

That's sort of a basic summary, but I still have quite a bit that's just sort of pepperings from random artists or genres, and works from unsigned artists like Tay Zonday or Pharaoh Atem (Pharaoh Atem has his own web site, he does remixes and did a lot of work specifically on Final Fantasy XI). Still, there aren't too many genres I don't have at least a little bit from. I guess one would be rap, particularly gangster rap. That's just too far down the rabbit hole (or rather, downward spiral) of hip-hop for my liking.

It's not something I do on purpose, just so I can tell people "But I DO listen to everything," I just grab whatever I think sounds good. And over the years I've discovered my specifications for something being "good" are very flexible.

Rise Against mostly, but a few others

*sigh*

Tim McIlrath is an incredible vocalist but since Sufferer and The Witness, I can't bear listening to Rise Against. They need to go back to angry instead of angsty. Instead of producing albums full of catchy yet dull songs. An album consisting of anthems is dull in my ears. What ever happened to Revolutions Per Minute...?

OT: I have grown an eclectic taste in music over the alst 4 years. I'll listen to anything from mainstream pop to heavy-as-fuck angry Hardcore. Granted, my Ipod doesn't show this but that's because I only download/buy music that I truly love. And that coveted title goes to the likes of Hardcore, ska, punk and (I guess) a few variants or fusions of the three.

Top bands for me include: NOFX, Streetlight Manifesto, Comeback Kid, The Flaming Tsunamis, Death By Stereo, Sick Of It All, Phinius Gage, Random Hand, This Is Hell, HORSE The Band, RX Bandits and Blakfish.

Basically, anything people are ashamed to admit listening to in case they lose a serious amount of man points.
Most recent example...

I also listen to a fair bit of game music, be it from recent, orchestral epics like the
or good ol' 8-bit tunes like the

Anything i would classify as music. ie, anything that has passion.

This rules out pop, electronic, dance and most rap because they all sound too much like they were manufactured rather than living melodies.

I like:
-most forms of metal (Iron maiden, stone sour, disturebed, black sabath, deep purple etc)
-Blues (The blues band, Muddy waters etc)
-Prog rock (The Yes, ELP, Pink Floyd, Genesis, King Crimson etc)
-Folk (June Tabor, Martin Simpson, Clannad etc)
-And anything else that feels alive and not created on a couple of computers by people looking to make money.

The best band ever are The Who.

Metal/Rock, my vote went to Metal thou.
Some of my favorite bands: Iron Maiden, Kiss, Stratovarius, Hammerfall, W.A.S.P., Mötley Crüe, Nightwish (With Tarja as lead) and so many more.
My father liked it in my age and he listened to lots of music loud when I was in my moms belly so I guess the heavy shock waves came through to me and I still listen to it!! ^^

And you already posted Disturbed here, let me choose something else.....

Hahaa, of course! Why not add some Van Canto here? :D It is the second greatest band out there right now
