In some games, there are multiple ways to complete an objective and kill the bad guys.

Run in guns blazing, making yourself known and spraying and shooting every enemy in sight.

The psycho- you like to mess with the enemies and REALLY hurt them. Mainly use knives.

Stealth: You sneak through or around the enemies, silently taking out or avoiding them. Patience is needed for this.

The marksman: You like to keep your distance and take enemies out from afar with precision.

Demoltiion: You like to use the heavy stuff and make things explode.

So what are you? If I left any out, please comment.

I'm stealth mixed with psycho, I like to sneak in and silently take them out one by one, mess with their heads, and toy with them.

Big Stealth fan in games when I can get away with it. I'm playing Arkham Asylum ATM and I'm loving making armed thugs wet their pants. I'm planning a big stealth/no kills playthrough of Deus EX HR when I get it next week so yay, sneaking is fun.

Scaring them in Arkham is so fun. Try punching them and hiding, it's hilarious

I'm currently playing through the original Deus Ex and have so far not got any kills in the ~20 hours I've played, and I'm enjoying it immensly, so I guess I'll go stealth.

I'm both a marksman and stealth player... this is excellent for my group of friends which are all the jump in before looking type. Every game should have a bow and stealth mode.

Given the opportunity, a combination of stealth/marksman. I use a silenced assault/sniper rifle, and take out the baddies from as far away as I can. It's both because I'm not a very twitchy sort of person, and I usually find this manner both the safest and easiest, as it gives me time to perfectly line up shots and such.

My first playthrough on Deus Ex: HR is probably to be a stealth/social specialist. Come to think of it, that was how my first playthrough on FO:NV was, and my first playthrough on Alpha Protocol was a stealth/shotguns specialist (shut up... it totally worked). I guess I just lean towards stealth since I perceive it to be the safest way to accomplish the objective.

I'm a stealth psycho, in that i'll sneak around and kill everyone quietly, then mutilate their corpses and arrange them in disturbing displays. well, that's pretty much how i played Fallout 3 my first runthrough. No body was left capitated.

All you wussies, staying in the shadows, slinking about like snakes in the undergrowth. You and your "cover" and your pansy "stealth" and "not getting shot in the ribs."

I run in, having my partners lay down covering fire, and drop each of the punks with shots in the braincase at short range.

If a game allows for it and it plays decent enough: Stealth.

Really looking forward to the new Dues Ex next week for this reason.

On the opposite end I do enjoy running in and systematically fucking things up from time to time.

Marksman. Feels good to clear a room of enemies with 10 well placed headshots as opposed to 7 magazines in the wall behind them.

I'd say I'm a marksman. I tend to play rogues in games, but not dishonorable thieves. I like the idea of a veteran hunter who has picked up survival skills over the years and specializes with the bow. I tend to be chaotic good. So...I'm the idealistic survivalist, and a total pro.

Stealth / demo

i love to have the biggest impact possible with the smallest chance of being seen

i play mage / rogue types in rpg's

if a big weapon / tank is available in a game you can be sure i will use it

in mechwarrior i would run sensor blind and corner-shot people around buildings with heavy artillery for the lols
else snipe them out of their sensor range with ecm and gauss-rifles on open areas

ah, mechwarrior.. best multi-player shooter ever.

Oh. Yeah... I guess positioning bodies so it looks like Sunny Smiles is giving head to Easy Pete would probably count

Stealth/marksman combo for me. I lean more toward stealth but I'll take any opportunity I can to pick off the enemy from range first.
This only applies to first-person perspectives, though. For some reason I really dislike all stealth implementations I've seen in third-person views. In a game that's primarily third person I generally go for the "guns blazing" playstyle. Then again, third person is pretty crap for anything apart from party-oriented RPGs anyway.

I'm going with the marksman/stealth (like a lot of people I guess). Probably because I like to play FPS games on harder difficulties, so I have to be WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY the hell away from people if I want to keep my limbs. Doesn't always work though, but I do want to try out some decent stealth games and see how I fare.

I prefer the stealth/marksman types when in gun based games.

Every now and again 'demo' is simply the only way to do it.

Fat Man + Caesar's Legion Fort = Instant happy.

That aside I prefer mage-y types in fantasy games, with emphasis on the most flashy spells.
Though if possible stealth mages are tons of fun. (Oblivion)
