for your last point, an even worse option? i don't know how it could get worse based on the fact that you buy it for console or PC
Because you can get console games even cheaper. Mabey not on launch day but I can get them for at most half price a week later.

If you want some quick examples Bioshock 2 is $10 brand new on all platforms in stores near me. Its $20 still on steam. My buddy broke his copy of black ops about a month ago. A quick steam check shows that it is still priced at $60, he paid $20 for a used copy and I think brand new was around $45 at EB.
that is true, i wouldn't disagree with that, but you are also bringing the used copy into the equation (which is fine, over half my console games i buy are used)

and yeah, there is a small reason for that... because to most people bioshock 2 was complete and total shite, and the store bought the copies and has to sell all that backstock, so they have the price lowered to hopefully get them out the door.

steam had a huge call of duty sale like a week ago..black ops was like 40% off?
which means it was selling for 35, while the other modern warfare's were 50% off...

and also, it is known activision is the worst company about doing deals/sales, so when it comes to digital sales, your picking the worst company to never drop it prices for anything.

Simply put I could still have fun if the internet died or steam just disapeared from exsistance...although I think some of the newer games are boxed and require a disk so oh well.

0% and damned proud of it.

Why would I want to run my games through a crappy third party program? The last time I tried Steam, which was admittedly 2 years ago, the service ran about as fast a cranky Commodore 64. Seriously, it was loading it's fat ass for three times as long as it takes to boot up Windows... WTF?!

Maybe that was just me? Maybe it's better now? But really, why should I care?

If I want to talk to friends? Vent works very well, or for that matter between WoW and Starcraft, and eventually Diablo III, you can just talk using Blizzards RealID when playing some of the most popular PC games out there anyway.

Also I HATE digital copies of games. I want to actually own something, something I can keep, put on a shelf, install on a computer without an internet connection if I damn well feel like it.

Apparently that's just me though.

Like.. 2%

I only recently got Steam but I do enjoy it. I just like owning physical copies of my games too much to download them. I'm not sure why, it's just my O.C.D. I guess. It's true for everything though, not just games.

I never used to but then i thought, i've got literally thousands of pounds worth of games here and i will never play them again. My PC games weren't worth shit though so i gave most of them away to friends. Trading games is more a console thing

Perhaps I'm just odd then? I don't even care about the resale value of my cars. I don't buy them with intent to resell, I buy them with the intent that I'm going to drive them until they literally break in half. That bleeds off into the other purchases I make, games included.
I'm the same, but when i upgrade my car i don't leave the other in the garage cluttering the place up either...i trade it in.

I had to vote 1-33, but in truth I only have one game on my steam account, that being Terraria. I actually made a steam account just to buy that, and my computer lacks the stats for most other games, so it sits there unused.
This is exactly the same for me. I can get everything else I want on my PS3 or Wii and my computer wouldn't be able to run anything except Terraria.

How the hell should I know? During my 21 years as a gamer, I've amassed a massive collection of games, most of them physical copies. I easily have over a hundred games in my room alone. On my Steam list, I have about 18 things listed. I'm not even sure if some of those count, as five of them are 'episodes' of a 'season', and a couple others are expansion packs.

So a small percentage, I guess.

None because Stream is evil

Care to elaborate on that? How does a program like Steam, that allows you to purchase games for dirt cheap, as well as cross-communicate with your friends, classify as "evil"? You must have some reason.

OT: I'd say oh...80% of my games are run through Steam, of the PC games I own. I generally enjoy the program, as well as the whole system they've got running there. I love me my discounts and sales on games!
Because when I tried to use Stream it broke constantly and I could never actually play any of the games. That's why it's evil
So because it doesn't work for you it's awful and evil......righhhttttttt smooth logic there!
Well if you're going to bring logic into this ...... nope it's still evil, to me at least anyway. Others may not agree but hey diffrent strokes for diffrent folks. It's a personal opinion am I right?

Pretty much all of my games go through Steam if available on the service, with the exception of SA:MP as when I started playing the Steam version of San Andreas was not easily downgradable to support SA:MP.

If there's a game that I kinda want, then I will not purchase it if it is not on Steam.
