Poll: What proportion of the escapist plays WoW?

I searched the forums for this, but i can't see if its been done before, so here goes.

I'm curious as to what proportion of the escapist community plays World of Warcraft. Everytime theres a thread about it, theres a collection of people from both sides.

So have you ever tried it?

I'm trying this "Life" game now, gotta say it's pretty boring but atleast for a small fee you get a long subscription.

(I can't get past the "homework" challenge, everytime I complete it more comes. Anyone know any hints or got any cheats?)

I've been playing since christmas,but I haven't played a lick of it the last month after discovering the amazingness of Fallout 3. My subsciption ends on the first of April.

I tried the trial version, but didn't get into it. I only played for about two days before quiting.

Nope, it looked interesting right up until the word SUBSCRIPTION came up. I played and paid for Galaxies before the major content update (seriously, how could any company so thoroughly fuck up it's own game?), then vowed to never play an MMO again if that was the way they were headed.

I have never actually played it and don't plan on it. I just don't see the interest in it. Finally I don't fully understand the working world... I play games to feel like I'm affecting a world not just a part of it, I get that enough in the real world. Furthermore I don't really play MMOs at all.

Ah yes, I remember when this game had imprisoned my very soul. I have escaped its grasp however, and honestly, I couldn't feel more free to do whatever the hell I want.

I never have and never will, it doesn't appeal to me.

I once said that to a WoW fan in real who then tried to convert me, rather agressively, I felt like I was being groomed.

Trialed it to make my friend happy. Stopped playing after an hour, didn't look at it again.

Never played it, never will. I will stick to Lineage 2. It's a proper mmo.

No, I'm staying far away from that game. Although it doesn't really matter anyway; MMORPGs don't appeal to me.

The issue with WoW is that it doesn't get fun until level 25 or 30, trials end at level 20, and most people stop before then because of the drab starting areas, but I promise you it gets better, that's the issue, nobody will commit to it.

Anyway, I've been playing about a month now, I'm a level 44 Human Pole-Adin

Trial ended for me after 3 hours. Then I tried 3 times on a private server, got bored of the game before I finished downloading it.

Lineage 2 kept me interested for much longer. Or COUGH Ragnarok Online COUGH which I still play sometimes.

Do you know how many of them are just using the game as a chat engine or to sell gold? A lot. Some of them I know from Guild Wars.

I don't play WoW anymore but, unlike everyone else it seems, I don't regret my time on the game or have any negative feelings towards it.
So many times I've seen on this forum "bah i used to play wow now i dont and im freeee the game sucked anyway stole my life etc etc." Come on people, what the hell. I played it, i liked it, I got bored, I stopped playing, like any normal human being.

Play it on and off but not religiously like some of the world.
