Poll: What Race/Profession will you play in Guild Wars 2?

Sylvari Engineer (mines, grenades, and flamethrower)
Asuran Gaurdian


In that order most likely, I like crowd control and those three show the most in battlefield control. I also like plant guy with a flamethrower and little guy with a hammer.

Charr Engineer. At least for my first character and probably my main.

The only thing I hated about the first Guild Wars was that I couldn't play as one of the awesome charr, at least Pyre Fierceshot eased that need for a bit, but I still wasn't a charr and no, wearing a silly costume isn't the same. Right after ArenaNet confirmed the playable races in GW2, I immediatly knew I wanted to choose a charr. Right off the bat I'm choosing *gasp* an engineer, why?, because it's new!, that's why, I'll later make a Warrior alt, but I want to start with one of the newest classes first.

Sylvari: Too Elfish.
Human: Too ... oh, wait.

Or at least, that was my thought process.

OT: I'm thinking a Mesmer, probably a Human. I might decide to do a Charr instead, though.

I'd say a lot of people want to try and play it safe and stick to what they know for their first character.

I guess so, I personally am picking human as to roleplay in a sense my as the descendant of my GW1 character.

I think a lot of people are doing that as well but after the game is out for a bit I think a lot more people will diversify after creating a successor to their old main.

On a more serious note, probably Necromancer, since that's what my main character was in the first game.

I don't have a clue. All of the classes sound pretty cool, but I'm leaning towards necro as of now anyways. It will probably take me a good hour in character creation before I decide.

I played a human ranger in GW1, so will probably do the same here (of course there was no option to choose your race in GW1, but whatever, I enjoyed my human ranger). I may try a Sylvari thief later.

Nope, no secondary professions in this one. Class mechanics and weapon based skills don't really leave room for secondaries.

First I'll make a Human Guardian. Probably a Human Thief after that. I'm upset that there's no such thing as a Dervish in GW2. I'm hoping that a future expansion brings them back.
