I thought the 1 man army with Nube tubes was a big thing for me plus overpowered kill streaks the short campaign killing all the good characters in the story [you know who they are] each map pack is 20+ aus Tactical Insertions they frustrate me due to it being used for boosters and people who glitch out of map Guns that are so mismatched you end up using one gun because its the best one i never see anyone with the F2000 or Famas there are others but post what you thought ruined COD MW2.

Yes i still play it because i like it but these are just frustrations with cod

For me it was the short single player. I like multiplayer and all but I usually buy console games based on their single player quality.

No one thing ruined MW2 on it's own. If only one of those things was the problem with the game, the game wouldn't be ruined at all. It was the combination of many things that ruined it for me. Short story (which btw was annoyingly poor IMO), over-powered kill-streak awards (the chopper gunners, AC 130s and such are just too much. I quite enjoy the turrets, UAV for hardcore and those low-down things), teleportation-knifing and the fact that the knife is a one-hit-kill weapon, no dedicated servers, small maps with too low a number of players available IMO, and kids that squeal into the mic is always a problem in games with in-game voip =3. *muted*

Oh, and people claiming this is a realistic shooter. I've always heard this and made up arguments for why it was a poor realistic shooter, but I realize now that is simply isn't. No matter how much some people say it. It can be a fun arcade-ish FPS game, but it's not realistic.

I agree, the short and unimpressive single player campaign bothered me a lot. Don't get me wrong, I love multiplayer and I still play MW2 online a lot, but it felt sort of like an FPS version of Smash bros Brawl. No, I don't mean it was about Nintendo characters shooting each other, but that it felt like the game was very much built from the ground up to be a multiplayer title, and then someone tacked on a single player story mode at the last minute.

People ruined it. Just like they ruin everything. Its played by too many non gamers who don't really understand online etiquette (Which does exist! In some small very slight way).

It does exist, It has a reasonably strong presence in tf2.

OP: It was ruined by a bunch of things, no one thing can solely be responsible, It was buggy, lacked servers, Hackers, little shits with parents with to much money and broken moral compasses, etc... The list is far to long for me to continue. But its not like it matters as people still play it and Activision still has our money...

on an almost unrelated side thought, this is probably why whats his face wants to put subscription on it, he realizes that no matter how shit the game is, if it has the "Call of Duty/Modern Warfare" badge it well sell, and be played no matter how half arsed it is.

The Community is what did it in for me.

The style of the game has changed with the community, its far too run and gun for me now, i was always a long Fan of CoD its a shame that i feel a long running series i loved is now a Corpse to me.

In the end, the feel and gameplay of the game has changed far to much for me to relate to it anymore, At least i have Battlefront and Red Orchestra.

Mix between unbalanced and overpowered weapons, no dedicated servers (lag), hackers, trashtalking people, and unfair perks.

This, though I was looking for the "Modern Warfare 2" option in the list of things that ruined Modern Warfare 2.

How about everything? I can't think of a single thing that MW2 did right. Ditch dedicated servers? Check. Charge $15 for a map pack with recycled maps? Check. Make the multiplayer into an unbalanced crapfest? Check. Turn the story into a Michael Bay movie? Check. The list goes on.

I'm just hoping that MW2 causes people to check out a game before they give their money to a company that doesn't deserve it. I'm probably going to be disappointed.

i actually think its the map layouts and the random spawning that ruined MW2.All they had to do was use the same system as cod 4 and just add new maps with some new weapons.

But they still managed to muck it up im fed up with being shot from 5 ways as the same time or having enemies spawn next or behind me as this hsould neve rhappen in a game.

Yes the noob tubers are annoying and should be changed but it not a game breaker.

If anything ruined the game, it's people nagging about stuff. And then still playing it, but bragging on about how terribad the game is, even while playing it, calling everyone who kills them a cheap tosser. Everything else, while nowhere near perfect, is completely fine.
