I had trouble getting into Breaking Bad. Kept hearing how awesome it was, but never made it past the second episode.

If you're in the mood for more Joss Whedon, Dollhouse is pretty riveting! Farscape is also great and on Netflix, as mentioned above. If you haven't seen Arrested Development yet, get on that immediately.

So yesterday I marathoned through Firefly yesterday and it was AMAZING. So my fellow escapist, what tv show should I watch next?
If you're cool with the Sci-Fi, I consider the following to be absolute musts:

- Red Dwarf
- Hyperdrive

(in that order)

After that - Dude, it's a cardinal sin to not have seen every second of Breaking Bad by now, and if you're not weirded out by David Lynch already, you absolutely must watch Twin Peaks. It will mess with your head a bit, though.

Should you like Twin Peaks, I suggest you go give Eraserhead a spin.

If you like anime I suggest Full Metal Alchemist. If you're unsure about anime, I suggest Full Metal Alchemist. If you don't like anime, try Stargate: SG1, then How I Met Your Mother, then Eureka, and then White Collar. I suggested them in order of how awesome they are, but I should mention that SG1 only beat out HIMYM because you just finished firefly and Stargate is Sci-Fi

I don't know if Netflix have these series, but if you like Doctor Who and Firefly, definitely have a look at X-Files and Stargate SG-1, can't recommend enough, for me, the best TV-shows of all time are: Doctor Who, X-Files, Stargate SG-1 and Firefly, in that order
But if i HAVE TO choose from that list, Twin Peaks, though i basically want to order you if you are a friend of sci-fi to have a peek at X-Filers and Stargate SG-1, please do it for me.

If I go by your list, I'd definitely recommend Breaking Bad. If the following shows are available on Netflix and you haven't seen them, you ought to check them out too: Justified, Sherlock and Boardwalk Empire.
I got my hopes up so high the first time I read this, but Justified isn't on netflix. I've looked. And looked. And looked.

Good god, you haven't watched Breaking Bad...

This poll was over before it even started, haha. That show is a must-see, even if you may (or may not) take umbrage with the nature of the plot. So f'in good.

edit-- Sherlock as mentioned above is a wonderful choice as well. Watch them both!

Fell in love with it watching the first ep on TV at home, but I can't afford cable at college so I can't watch it. Grrrrr.

So I am alternating episodes of Luther and Breaking Bad, they are fantastic.

Question for people who love Breaking Bad: Does Jesse become more likable as the show progresses?

From out of the list you put there,I would recommend Breaking Bad the most.

By the way,if you are going to put other in the poll, try telling us if you have seen the "flavor of the month/year" ones (Game of Thrones etc).

@Jack Package Yes he does.He has a slow start during the development of his character.

Of those choices, Breaking Bad. Great show.

Otherwise, Supernatural. You cannot go wrong. Amazing series.

Also, yay Firefly! You have good taste, my friend. :D

Check out Trailer Park Boys...

it's lke watching cops from the opposite point of view... It's pretty bad though, but in an endearing way... by the end I really got attached to the characters despte the fact that for the most part their all terrible people...

also, as bad as it is the opening is awesome...<.<

Jesse is pretty much the same likeable as the series progresses but you understand more of why he does what he does.
Walt on the other hand follows completely the opposite route at first you understand where he's coming from then gradually he pretty much turns into a raging psychopathic asshole.
But even with that I do recommend Breaking Bad a bit of bias considering I haven't really got into any of those other shows but what are you going to do
