A population of people sounds the nicest and pretty much sums up our massive numbers. Although swarm works just as well since the collective term for mice/rats is both pack and swarm (I think it changes depending on how many mice/rats there are).

But yeah, a population seems to fit.

So, even though it's not on the poll (and really should be) my vote goes into the "other" category.

I always prefer a word I mostly made up, skaggle, which is in itself a derivation of the word skag, something I started calling individual people some time ago (before Borderlands, actually).

It started out being derogatory, but now when I use it I usually don't mean it to be, since it's kind of a funny word and it would be a shame to sully the intention behind it.
