RB2 for sure. Best soundtrack of the three band games, plus you can get almost all of RB1's soundtrack for $5. Way more DLC than World Tour, and a better game overall.
Unless you simply must play as Ozzy or Hendrix. I won't judge.
HOLY CRAP I CAN BE HENDRIX? thats an addition to world tour and ozzy Is awesome in my opinion and I have looked at world tours sound track and looks good to me but then again so does the rock band? On a side note exactly how do I get rock band 1's soundtrack on 2?
It's in the DLC menu.
GH's soundtrack does have two each of great Ozzy and Hendrix songs, and it does have Ted Nugent and a better Metallica song (Trapped Under Ice is my personal favorite, actually), but I still think the combined tracks of both RBs is better.
The two RBs together give you two solid Metallica tracks, a solid grunge group (Nirvana, STP, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, and Alice in Chains), Rush, the Who, awesome Black Sabbath DLC, Iron Maiden, a better Motörhead song (Ace of Spades owns Overkill), AC/DC's best song (GHWT is entirely AC/DC-free), a better Dream Theater song, Judas Priest's "Painkiller" (the most kick-ass song ever written), Megadeth, and a pretty solid amount of modern rock. Besides, who couldn't love a game that lets you download the entire Peace Sells, Moving Pictures, and Screaming for Vengeance albums?
They do share a few songs, but mostly they're over-the-top 80s hits that are kind of a joke (Eye of the Tiger, Livin' on a Prayer, that kinda stuff).
Whichever you choose, you'll enjoy it because both are quite good. While the combined RB list is sorely lacking in Ozzy and Hendrix (my biggest complaint), I firmly believe it
is the better of the two. Then again, your taste in music might be completely different. I'd suggest looking up the setlists for the three games--they're all on Wikipedia.
